Very few leaders in the world have the guts to invite foreign observers to oversee the most controversial elections in their country. But President Mush has demonstrated his sincerety not only in lifting the emergency but also in conducting free and fair elections in Pakistan and he has also invited the world observers to oversee the impartiality of the elections. I was one of the many who critised President Mush so strongly for his actions. But he made us to eat humble pie through these pronouncements. He is a true gentleman in today's politics. It is now upto the political parties to conduct themselves peacefully for the restoration of democracy and those threatened to boycott the polls is highly regrettable. Gen. Kiyani, though close to the President, is very closely watching the development. He cannot be trusted upon as he is the poster boy of US who handpicked him for the job. All said and done, it is now obvious that the elections are going to be held in Pakistan finally and results will prove which side the peoples vote will go. President Mush has did one remarkable thing in confirming the sacking of the former Chief Justice who overstepped his position due to the popular support he got from the public at large. But then power that be always matters in such situations, and he was finnaly shown the door. It is better for the judiciary to be within their bounds and never to run the country which is the established job of the executive. This has been made clear by Mush.

Dear Jamsheed,
What Mr. Musharraf did cannot be supported at all as he is inviting the foreigners inside his country. Why Pakistan should allow the foreigners inside to have a close watch on the election? Are theese people fair enough inside their own country? The Asian nations should be more self-reliant and self-confidant and not to bank upon these foreigners who intrigue all the times to destabilise the entire South East Asian region. The people hailing from the Us and Europe should not be allowed in inch in this region. Whatever be our issues pertaining to this region, we are matured enough to take care of the same.

I am against any kind of discrimination. If the Muslim guy pays rent on time, is peaceful, he is better than a fighting, not-rent-paying hindu or christian.
If muslims are giving lower prices and/or better service, they will get my business. It is a competitive world. Hindus and Christians will have to compete for my business.
I don't ask the server his name or if he is a muslim or a hindu ... maybe my grandmother wouldn't like to be served by a muslim, but I do not care
If a paying customer patronizes my business, I don't care if this guy is a hindu or a muslim. They are all customer, I should earn their business.. the business cannot run with a discriminatory attitude towards customers.

Even though I am a hindu fanatic, I dont think boycotting muslims of India is good. My religion teaches me to coexists with other religion of India. However, I appreciate boycott of those who doesnt value their nation, i.e motherland India.

Not correct, my friend, though what u say may be correct to some extent i have lived for 20 years in mumbai with a muslim neighbour. trust me, u can't imagine how nice and wonderfull people they were, their children have gone to pakistan under compulsion of marriage, yet when they come to india, they bring gifts and sweet greetings. HATERED is not the solution, education is reqd, and being hindus, we must tolerate and trust them. we will survive at last, those who hate cannot, whethher hindus or muslims, sikhs or parsis.
The latest paki hobby is to create trouble between hindus and muslims on rediff forums. We so promptly fall into the trap. Please dont fall into this trap. If anyone sees radical comments which are spontaneous, irrelevant comments against hindus or muslims, one canbe sure a paki is lurking around. They have failed as a nation and they want us to sink with them.
Who are those independent observers? The western lot? AMericans and the British? What is he going to show to them except that saying see How I got Benazir elected by huge margins as you instructed me to do! So you are happy now? SO let me continue as President and enjoy my reign. Now dont upset my gravy cart!
Bloody hell! IF the western world is sincere about democracy they should start with Saudi but not Pak which has some sort of constitution and a judiciary that is based on English jurisprudence which is widely acknowledged as the most refined of all!

Saudi Arabia is a monarchy and there is no need for democracy there. Besides they don't get US aid like Pakistan does.
