EC has been formed for ensuring free and fair conduct of polls. However, James Michael Lyngdoh introduced fundamentalist bias in EC working. This action of complaint against education minister of Gujarat seems to have been influenced by UPA government. If EC continues to function like this, elections cannot be free and fair.

Modi wanted this election to be fought on communal lines and that is what he got. You guys have succesfully converted this election to another communal fight. Millions of poor Gujarati's will suffer. The rich in Gujarat will get richer under Modi rule they dont have any religion. What about the Poor and backward? If Modi was that successful there would not have been any people below poverty line in Gujarat. BJP has been in power since 1990. Thats 17 long years in power. What have they achieved that the govt's of Maharastra, AP or TN have not achieved. Why make a GOD of Modi???

mr issac, it seems you are unaware of the very fundaments of fact. what started trouble was a group of muslim fundamentalists set fire to two train coaches in which over 70 hindu devotees were killed. it was an unproved arson and deliberate attempt to start conflict. people expressed their resentment and modi government should be praised for dealing with the crisis and bringing violence under control. had it not been gujarat government, people would have killed all muslims. so instead of bashing modi, muslims must express gratitude to the goverment to stop the killing.
BJP will get 2% votes if Islamic fundamentalism goes away as it is a very poor copy of Congress. However - the rise of BJP can be traced in late 80s against Shah Bano controversy and violent reaction to Salman Rushdie's book. Later when Rajiv opened the gates of Barbri masjid for Shilanyas - the gates of hell were let lose - not helped by muslim making an issue of an old and disused mosque built on a Hindu temple. And then Weepee Singh started Mandal thing which sent upper caste to BJP to unite Hindus. The rest is history .

If Islamic fundamentalism goes away, according to you, BJP will get 2% votes.
But then, there will not be any need for BJP in India. BJP is required only for two reasons ---- 1) Prevent Islamisation of India and 2) Development

And when Rajiv Gandhi got 3/4 majority in 1984 elections it was because it was seen as being strong against Sikh terrorism and despite ( or because of ) the horrible anti-sikh riots. So this theory has always worked.

I don't think Islamic fundamentalists brought down Kanishka. Much of hijacking in past can be traced to communists in west europe like Bader Mienhoff gang etc. SO Airport security is a way to go anyway .

As per the recent story by Anita Saluja which appeared in New India Express,Page 10, Bangalore edition dated 14/12, the present speech writers for Sonia Gandhi are Javed Akhtar and Teesta Setalvad in place of Mr Dwivedi who was earlier her Hindi Tutor who later became her speech writer.Perhap those "Ye Beimaan,Dhhokebaaz,Mouth Ke Saudagar"..etc easily reminds one of Sholay written by Javed!From now onwards we can hope to get quite juicy dialogues from Sonia. At least she wont be a reading leader or a Gungi Gudia!
