Good decision
by Triveni K on Dec 13, 2007 10:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

M.P Prakash has taken a good decision finally. Gowda and HDK will not allow anybody to take the party leadership. Gowda and HDK might have forgotten that M.P prakash is from Lingayat community and which will affect them heavily in the comming elections as the majority of the ballot box in karnataka is controlled by Lingayat. HDK has passed comments on Lingayat Matts..thats not good for their vote bank.

The Gowdas are thinking that the Muslim and lower castes will vote for them.

An unheard of character called Mirajuddin is made JD-S president in Karnataka - that man is enjoying his limited glory in the shadows of Devegowda. He said - there is no loss for Party if MP Prakash and his supporters leave.

Did anyone know about this Mirajuddin earlier?
The sons of Devegowda are another set of jokers - they do not know what is going to hit them in the coming days...

Most of MP Prakash group may join BJP not Congress
by Thimme Gowda on Dec 13, 2007 08:31 AM  Permalink

It is not easy for MP Prakash and group to join Congress because Congress and JDS both are equally strong in their constituencies but BJP is weak.
If they join congress they have to fight against original Congress ticket seekers to get Congress ticket, this will create big problem for the party.
If they join BJP, they can get tickets very easily.

Will MP Prakash stay firm in his decision?
by Demo-crazy on Dec 13, 2007 12:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

MP Prakash has demonstrated on previous occassions that he is a weak personality who lacks conviction. It was evident very recently, when even after making up (more or less) his mind to quit, he call Devegowda still his leader. This put many of his followers into quandary and some eventually decided to stay back in JD-S.

At one time, MP Prakash supported JD-S decision of not handing over power to BJP - he was probably thinking Devegowda will revive the relationship with Congress and make him the CM. When Congress paid back Devegowda in his own coin (after making him withdraw support to BJP), MP Prakash had limited options to stay in power.

Even today, his words were, to the extent possible we want to practice value based politics! That is, to the extent it suits us, we will follow value based politics!!!

Mahima Patel, Sankeshwar atleast demonstrated the courage of conviction to come out firmly - one chose to start his own party, the other went (back) to BJP.

On the other hand, MP Prakash has no ideology - he wants to go where the grass will be more green for him and his partners.

JD-S(hameless) will have to go down - if the Karnataka voter shows no mercy (Devegowda and Kumaraswamy and company does not deserve any mercy!). It would be interesting whether MP Prakash will regain respect or not!

Dhruba,
You don't know real picture in Karnataka State. It is not easy for MP Prakash and group to join Congress because Congress and JDS both are equally strong in their constituencies but BJP is weak.
There is a strong opposition at the local level. If they join congress and get congress tickets, original Congress ticket seekers will join other parties like BJP. Many of them thinking of joining BJP

HDK gets a BIG kick on his Lau....daaaaa
by Lopesh Desai on Dec 12, 2007 10:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The JD(S)%u2019 withdrawal of support to the BJP government in Karnataka has created a new benchmark for political chicanery.
Such a behaviour of moral reverse, after giving individual affidavits to the Governor and parading their MLAs in front of the President, is an uncanny act by anyone who believes in societal and democratic values. Is there no value to a public pledge before the highest constitutional authority in the country?
H D Deve Gowda and his son have held the state ransom for the last one and half months to their political machinations. In the process, they have also misled the highest constitutional functionaries during discharge of their duties.
But for their written unconditional support, there was no need to revoke the President's rule and have a farce of a government formation. The President, the Union government and maybe the Supreme Court should intervene and take suitable action against the these people.

Devegowda has no moral ground to demand votes. His son Kumaraswamy blabbers half sentences all the time which have little thought or meaning.

It is an irony that people like Devegowda manage to become PM and his sons CM.

You will be shocked by the amount of wealth these guys have amassed. If at all they win, it will be because of their money power...

Let us see how much of it will go down the drain...

Cos of U such brainless gowdas only HDK is surviving. The politics of deceit by JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda brought down the one-week old government led by B S Yeddyurappa. This is the second time that JD(S) has deceived BJP from coming to power, violating all the agreements between the two. The wretched action of JD(S) is really an insult to the people of Karnataka. It is surprising that people%u2019s representatives in JD(S) are mute spectators and sheeplike followers to whatever their leaders H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy say or do, however silly, selfish, ridiculous and unstatesmanly that may be. The party deserves to be called not JD(S), but DG(S) meaning Deve Gowda(Sons) Governor should disqualify JD(S) and their MLAs as it was on the party's %u201Cunconditional%u201D assurance and parading before him that the President's rule was revoked. Disqualification would indeed be a lesson for the future coalition governments.
