wake up muslims
by on Dec 12, 2007 12:16 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1. An act of violence is heinous: no matter who does it- hindu or muslim: why dont muslims and other pseudo secular people
treat them as same. A muslim killed is a catastrophe but a hindu killed is nothing? why? just because they
are majority? why this double standard?
2. the author mentions that there were no 'major' arms haul: ok so you agree there have been arms recovery in the past?
can he come forward and explain what prompted the good citizens of so called' mini pakistan' to keep deadly
weapons in their home? if laws like TADA are applied to them then it is atrocity - why ?are they above law?
3. who gave muslims a right to think they can be a separete state within the state of India: they have every right
to keep their religius identity, but why do they need damn stupid maulvis to tell them what to do? cant they think of
themselves?
4. is there any reason that the author can give for the generic indifference of muslims to education? even if I
take gujrat out of the discussion? why are they so opposed to embracing the realities of life?
5 last thing: as long as muslims owe their loyalty and alligience to a foreign land, they will have trouble being accepted
by any society. Just because your faith was originated in gulf, why give religion precence over your homeland?
just see how happy many muslims are when pakistan wins a match- all because they are more muslims? ridiculous!!

well thats good to know- and is all i'm saying, as long as u put ur country first thing will be fine. no one does a planned marginilasion in India-or rather cannot do it.
if muslims are not getting proper suppr it is because a lot of them put religion first and behave militantly for it, its not good, if u accept urself as part of society and as an Indian, I bet change in perception will follow.

British MPs slam Malaysia over treatment of Hindus
by lablabia on Dec 12, 2007 12:10 AM  Permalink

December 2, 2007

London: Members of the British parliament have demanded that the Malaysian government scrap plans to demolish Hindu temples and allow legitimate protests against it.

In a strongly worded statement, they have also urged the British government to take up the matter on their behalf and "make the strongest possible representation" to Kuala Lumpur.

The MPs' demand comes after the Malaysian police used force to break up protests by Hindus complaining of decades of neglect and discrimination by the government in Kuala Lumpur.

The police action has been criticised around the world.

"This House notes with grave concern the stated intention of the government of Malaysia to demolish 79 Hindu temples", said the House of Commons Early Day Motion that has been signed by 19 MPs so far.

The MPs called upon their government "to make the strongest possible representations to the Malaysian government both to cease the programme of demolition and to allow this legitimate voice of protest to be heard without physical interference".

The EDM was moved Thursday by Stephen Pound, ruling Labour Party MP for Ealing North, and signed among others by Keith Vaz, the longest-serving Asian MP in Britain, and Ann Cryer, a member of the influential Home Affairs Select Committee.

suppose in the rarest rare case, suppose in the train carnage which happened at godhra, all the casualties were of 59 muslims were burnt alive rather roasted.
whether the train carnage had been at godhra or gangapur or gorakhpur or garhwal or gwalior or anywhere in ind not merely in guj.
just suppose, what wud hv happened to the whole of india not to think of the state where the train was burnt.
the whole nation wud hv seen the riots n not in the state where the train wud hv been burnt. n still media wud hv come to rescue the minorities.

Foreign workers face campaign of brutality in Malaysia
by lablabia on Dec 12, 2007 12:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

December 11, 2007

Kuala lumpur (Malaysia): When his turn comes to stand watch, Kang Long posts himself at a window, peering into the dark streets outside the tiny apartment where his fellow migrant workers sleep 10 to a room.

"We always fear, especially at night," he said. "Maybe there will be a raid. Where will we run? I worry for my wife and children. I've been thinking of moving to the jungle."

Kang Long, 43, is an ethnic Chin refugee from Myanmar, one of as many as three million foreign workers whose labor on farms, factories and construction sites and in service industries supports the economy of this bustling Southeast Asian nation. About half are estimated to be here illegally.

Like foreign workers elsewhere, they are resented by many local people and demonized by politicians. Here in Malaysia they have become the targets of an expanding campaign of harassment, arrest, whippings, imprisonment and deportation.

To lead this campaign, the government in 2005 transformed a volunteer self-defense corps, created in the 1960s to guard against communists, into a strike force deputized to hunt down illegal immigrants.

This force, called Rela, now numbers nearly half a million mostly untrained volunteers - more than the total number of Malaysia's military and police in this nation of 27 million.

Its leaders are armed and have the right to enter a home or search a person on the street without a warrant. By an official count, its uniformed volunteers carry out 30 to 40 raids

As it takes over more of the duties of the police and prison officials, Rela is drawing the condemnation of local and foreign human rights groups, which accuse the volunteers, some as young as 16, of violence, extortion, theft and illegal detention.

"They break into migrant lodgings in the middle of the night without warrants, brutalize inhabitants, extort money and confiscate cellphones, clothing, jewelry and household goods, before handcuffing migrants and transporting them to detention camps for illegal immigrants," Human Rights Watch said in a report in May.

They often fail to honor legitimate documentation and sometimes destroy documents in order to justify their actions, the human rights group said.

In an interview, Rela's director general, Zaidon Asmuni, dismissed the concerns of human rights groups, saying that the nation's security is at stake and demands an aggressive defense.

"We have no more communists at the moment, but we are now facing illegal immigrants," he said. "As you know, in Malaysia illegal immigrants are enemy No. 2." Enemy No. 1, he said, is drugs.

Once undocumented migrants are detained, they face a jail term of up to five years and a whipping of up to six strokes.

Some of the migrants, like Kang Long from Myanmar, are refugees registered with the United Nations, but they are caught up in the sweeps as well. Malaysia is not a signatory of the UN refugee convention.

According to the accounts of a dozen migrants in the cramped apartments where t

After serving time in a detention center, they say, many are taken to a no man's land near the border with Thailand where human traffickers await their arrival.

If they can pay 1,500 ringgit, or about $450, the migrants say, the traffickers will smuggle them back to Kuala Lumpur where the cycle of harassment, potential detention and deportation begins again.

If they cannot pay, the migrants say, they may be sold as laborers to fishing boats or forced into the sex trade. Some return years later, the migrants say. Others simply disappear.

Irene Fernandez, a Malaysian who heads a local migrants' rights group called Tenaganita, said victims sometimes call from the border begging for money to pay the traffickers.

"It's a conflict for us because we cannot support any form of trafficking, " she said. "At the same time, protection of life is equally important."

The best she can honorably do, she said, is to notify the immigrant communities in Kuala Lumpur, where people barely have enough money to feed themselves, and hope they can find the means to save their friends.

Terrorized by Rela, many of the migrants have left their apartments in the city and built shacks of leaves and branches in the surrounding jungle.

But Rela pursues them here as well, the migrants say.

"Some jungle sites are periodically cleared by local authorities, the inhabitants are displaced, valuables taken away and at times shelters are burned to the ground," the medical aid group Doctors Without Borders s

Muslims not to do any religious activity in illegal madarassa
Kolhapur (Maharashtra): Tension has increased in Nagadeva Wadi as Muslims have been reading %u2018namaz%u2019 in unauthorized madarassa. Shri. Satish Raut, Tehsildar of Karveer held a meeting of both the communities. He later, issued an order that without obtaining permission from Nagdeva Wadi Gram Panchayat and the Government, Muslims should not carry out any religious activity in the controversial madarassa. The meeting held in Tehsildar%u2019s office was also attended by Shri. Dhananjay Bhange, the Police Inspector from Karveer Police Station. About 50 Muslims, including locals and outsiders, read %u2018namaz%u2019 in the unauthorized madarassa at Nagadeva Wadi. Local citizens and Hindu Organizations have been opposing such illegal acts for the past 10 years. (Hindus should note that only 50 Muslims pay no heed to their opposition although they are supposed to be in majority %u2013 Editor). In this background, the meeting was held. Members of both the communities have agreed to keep the situation as it is. (It would be better if the matter is sorted out once for all as Muslims have utter disregard for opposition by Hindus %u2013 Editor).

The meeting was also attended by leaders of Hindu Ekata Andolan, S/Shri. Deepak Magdum, Ashok Desai and Anna Potdar, Shri.Shrikant Potnis and Adv. Sudheer Chandurkar of VHP, Shri. Sambhajiraje Salunkhe, the district-president of Bajarang Dal and its members S/Shri. Sachin Mangure, Raju More, Ranajit Ay

The UPA Congress govt at the center, took immediate action when the Danish cartoons & Taslima & Rushdie novels were published, expressed concern on the hanging of criminal Saddam Hussein, and lost its sleep over the plight of the families of terrorists Kabeel & Hameed in the wake of UK blasts, had just not bothered to move even an inch over the plight of millions of Hindus suffering in Malaysia. Even after several days of the attack & arrest of Hindus for sedition, the Congress govt has not bothered to express even concern over the atrocities committed by the Malaysian authorities. Remember what happened to Kashmiri pundits. It is a curse to be a Hindu under secular govt of Congress leaders

by abcd efg on Dec 11, 2007 11:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

has anyone pondered over why this situation has come where Mr. Modi is ruling as a king. If the policy makers and politicians do not mend their ways, Mr. Modi will become the PM also and then the threat of India breaking will also not work.
It is time to learn from the tragedy of Gujarat and mend ways towards social responsibility and governance than blame Modi. I have, in my state, met people from a community producing n no. of children and refusing to send them to school when I was ready to provide food, education and facilities, free of cost. Now find a place in UK or US for 'decent' school. You have diminsihed India and Indians in the name of being inferior, it does not work anymore, politicians use such people and lack of education destroys your children who are future of India.

We have to thank Muslims for making the passive Gujarathi Hindus aggressive ready to protect their rights. They have forgotten the Mo Ghazni attack of Somnath 17 times & looting, killing & raping by the Muslim marauders but now they have drawn a line, a laxman rekha, which the Islamists crossed at Godhra. Now they are showing the country some leadership in governing. Long live Modi.
