Hmm i would like to put some perspective on history over here. Gujaratis or the current gujarathi crowd is largely a mass of people who have witnessed persian muslim onslaughts. If you examine the geneology of Modi you won't be surprised to find some Persian blood in him . The actual inhabitants of Gujarat - the Saurashtrians live in parts of Tamilnaadu now because they fled from the onslaught.A major chunk of gujaratis - be it a hindu or muslim would have Combination or Persian and Indian ancestry.If Modi pulls together the hiduvta act then this a good point for the congress. It is like the DNA test on hitler proved he has some jewish ancestry.If Gujjus want to believe that Gujarat's people are truly 'Hindu' then they should examine the geneological differences between Surashtrians and themselves.Having said that history is not an excuse to change the current state of things.When modi uses it , would be a good counter argument.

I believe that all tamilians are not bad, most are decent human beings. The animosity to the use of Hindi in TN is fostered by politicians to further their petty selfish gains. If people in TN did forgo their "animosity" to Hindi (there are so many Tamilians in New Delhi who speak excellent Hindi), and accepted Hindi as the national language, I believe the minor prejudices that some may have against them would disappear in due time. Indian, whatever some may say on this blog, have always valued the cultural and other contributions of Tamilian greats to India and TN is a valued province of the Indian union.
