Uncalled for
by unni krishnan nair on Dec 04, 2007 04:48 PM  Permalink

Every Maths and Temples in India have their own traditions. As far as possible they should be preserved no doubt.

If a carte blanche permission is given for Sagallongana then there is a possibility that all our Seers will spend all their time abroad. Dont you think this is what is happening in the case of our politicians, who flock to all parts of the world at the drop of hat. I wish we had such or similar restrictions on our politicians.
That would save a lot of Taxpayers money.

Coming to the case in question, this Swamiji has gone abroad not using Taxpayers money, but for the propagation of Dwaitha philosophy and before his departure has brought it to the notice of all other seers. They should have raised their objection at that time. Besides, Pejavar Swamiji has congratulated his move.

Therefore the current row is uncalled for.

Good one! Hope that this puts some light in the ever - dark corridors of our seers brains. Lest they too would have to forego their fight for Ram Sethu (which according to their argument, then, would be void 'coz it was built by Ram n Hanuman, the Pav Purusha.

It is clear from the article that it is temple's law only and nothing do with religion as such....
-->The heads of the other maths say that that the Puttige math will have to desist from worshipping at the temple. It is said that as per the tradition of the temple, none of the heads of the maths are allowed to cross the seas. In case they do, they will not be permitted to ascend the seat.

Revolutionary, u seems to belong to a class of few Indians who worship foreigners and abuse your society's Gods! Before challanging some customs, one need to understand them. This rule was framed for pujaris so that they couldn't be affected by outside or foreign impression. What happened in ancient times that a pujari crossed sea by claiming that he was going to gain some knowledge but returned doing trade and earning money. Since trading was banned for pujaris, so rules were framed for pujaris that whosoever cross the sea will not be allowed to offer puja or doing the earlier work. This simple custom is followed even today. The ppl like u don't understand that this rule is just for pujaris and normal public is out of sphere of it. So why make cry of it? And for your kind information, SriRam, Hanumanji were not pujaris. I guess u know that!

Ram did not fly over the sea, there was an bridge built over it. Hanuman did it with the request of Ram. In this case it was sole decision of Seer.

What His Holyness Sugunedra's saying "he has not gone to USA for pleasure trip".

In the age of Globalization people from all walks of life travel to all nooks and cornor of the Globe; then why this limitation to Seers. They should be there where thier people are. I personally had the pleasure of taking the Blessing from him during his visit to Mumbai on many occassions.

I dont know where and why Maulvis are treated as anything else other than human beings.
Its good to know that Hinduism also doesnt emphasize on priests. Though Hindus do emphasize. The same might be the case with Islam and Muslims. Islam doesnt emphasize on priests though some ignorant Muslim named individuals might do so.
No ONE TRUTH????
You mean - everything is true... I don't know how that is correct. Its a universal norm, that any statement can be true or false. It cannot always be true...
Ka'aba is not an idol. Muslims dont worship it. Or rather, Islam doesnt teach one to worship it.
Splitting of sects - Shia and Sunni is a different issue. Not to do with worshipping of one God.
I am not getting into details as this forum is more of an abuse station rather than intelligent discussion forum. This is my first and last foray into rediffboards.
To all Hindu friends - sorry if I have hurt any feelings. My intention was just to find similarities between the religions.
