What happened in ancient times that a pujari crossed sea by claiming that he was going to gain some knowledge but returned doing trade and earning money. Since trading was banned for pujaris, so rules were framed for pujaris that whosoever cross the sea will not be allowed to offer puja or doing the earlier work.
