Its the Hyde & Seek of Left & Congress!!!
by rajesh on Aug 31, 2007 12:29 PM  Permalink

Even the paanwala knew that the commies will not withdraw support. Commies know very well that they may not get another chance in future to dictate terms to a govt., that too such a weak PM... Sab Khursi ka kamal hai...

Anyways, media had a ball of a time for the past few days with the dirty tricks of the commies.

Nuclear Deal
by my message on Aug 31, 2007 12:09 PM  Permalink

It is now clear that the UPA is gutless and can be blackmailed. This also proves that the UPA is only interested in Power and that they will do anything to retain power, including going back on their own statements. Also proves that the PM is an empty vessel and can make a lot of noise only when he talks to the media, but is incapable of even remotely doing anything. Ofcourse, the bottom line of the arguments of the Left and the UPA will be (the most misused and meaningless pseudo secular argument) "to prevent communal forces".

Can a Committe of blind stooges analyse the Hyde Act?
by Chakravarthy Muralidhar on Aug 31, 2007 11:42 AM  Permalink

May be, they thought, after all,it is a 'hide act'!What harm can happen if 'blind' stooges are appointed to study it?Unfortunately, our political masters are playing with the nation's self-respect,sovereignty,security and even its very integritiy. What seems to matter most to MMS is his credibility with Bush;his name being inscribed in the annals of 'history',etc, etc. But what would it cost the nation in terms of merely money?May be 2 to 3 lakh crore rupees of investment to 'take advantage' of the deal with US to generate 30-40K MW of power to be supplied to the public at about 5-8 rupees per unit(kWh),so that our economy continues to be a high energy-cost economy vis-a-vis US,Germany,China,USSR,etc, where it is only 1-4 rupees per unit! That is our 'plan' for energy security for this impoverished country! That is how we will compete in the new globalised world order! After all with very low wages we have unjustifiably too much of competitive edge, which we would like to moderate with suitable handicap-high energy costs (akin to fighting your opponent with one hand tied to the back!In this complex world we need a multi-pronged analytical approached to correctly assess all possible future scenarios to take a truly well thought out decision before signing deals such as the 123-Agreement.Just setting up a committee of "only Cong-Left parties" as announced by Pranab Mukherji will only lead to defrauding the nation. But that is the only thing that can be expected of this govt.

Nuclear deal

India is the only country in the world to which USA agreed to give nuclear cooperation without signing the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty
Experts said the USA agreed to give India advance, long-term permission to reprocess U.S.-origin nuclear material once New Delhi builds a new reprocessing facility that would only use such material.
This is happening despite the fact that the Americans "do not give consent rights to reprocess except to our closest allies, Japan and Euratom,
The 123 agreement also says that while the United States might cut off nuclear cooperation in the event of an Indian nuclear test, it will seek to ensure India continues receiving fuel from other sources.
Australia signaled Thursday it is edging toward a decision to sell uranium to India despite the refusal by New Delhi to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

YOu need to understand that if USA cuts off cooperation, most of NSGs will not give you any uranium (natural or spent for reprocessing). Australia will take decision only with the consent of USA so dont get excited.
Meanwhile having spent Uranium for reprocessing is sofar not economical, unless India gets it on discount.
