Media can only distort common man's interest. They never can change this prevailing system. Those people will change this distorted system, who are committed to people. Media attacks a party and its leaders, because they represent India's 90% people. Media, Congress & BJP will save remaining 10%.

by Kajolika on Aug 23, 2007 10:42 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I always thought Manmohan Singh is a lerned, well meaning, clean honest man. But this Nuclear deal and its handling shows that he is a great negotiator for India and a good administrator as well !
He is definitely a contrast in face of the Anarchist Left !

no he has screwed up. he shld have just got nuke deal done and allowed its handling and convincing to be done by Sonia with the left. that would have prevented uproar like now. he is trying to behave like babbar sher but instead he is looking like bheegi billi in front of left opposition. what was the need to give empty threats to the left to witdraw support if they want to. i have seen this happen before too. he screws up with his immature political statements and Sonia and other senior congress leaders have to save him.

all the hard work done by Sonia to keep the coalition. His repeated immature political statements are just stupid and hurting the ego of their coalition partners. Why dosen't he just go abt doing his job rather than trumpeting the nuke deal time and again?

JAPAN' SUPPORT
by VenkateswaraRao Korasiga on Aug 23, 2007 10:31 AM  Permalink

Our policy makers made blunders and missed several opportunities. When japanies economy is in trouble and seeking help from else where we could have taken several collobarations and made our manufacturing base a qualitative one and could have adopted good work culture.
when Russian economy was in trouble and Russian scientists were not even paid salaries, we could have utilised the opportunity and pumped money and could have got good defence and space collaborations in high tech areas. we are missing all the opportunities because of our Politicians and short sighted policy makers. At least we open our eyes and capture the opportunities. It is not too late to realise this mistake and plan for energy security.
K.Venkateswara Rao.

Say no to the Deal

This deal is dreadful for India. India will become mere pushover to USA and no country which dreams to be world number 1 should opt for such deal

Lets be practical.

India with its huge population of 1 Billion with 70% of them living below poverty line will not become No.1 in the next 200 years. Though the country will continue to grow and about 50% will have a decent living standard(owning a car) by 2050.

It is better to be non-superpower and become free from Poverty. I am not telling that we will be free from poverty with this deal but atleast we can hope our rural people( some of them have not seen power at all in their villages ) and urban population get uninterrupted power as a result it improves our standard of living.

How did Japan get on Nuclear Supplier Group?

May be because of some of the nuclear material left over by US at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Imbecile. Japan attacked the US first without even declaring war.

Anyway no need to bother about Japan-USA relations, worry about Pakistan & China which are still officially at war with the Republic of India.

When we consider nuclear supplies only Australia, Canada & US has substantial reserves of uranium, I think.
