foolish to try find these qualities in a foreign educated PM and NRIs, they are not perfect examples and cut out for that...US uses NRIs for political reasons...India should bring good laws to make these people mandtorily serve India...and never allow them leave this country...why lose foreign exchange on these jerks...government sponsored personal development programmes!...

I hundred percent agree with Dinesh. All these doctors and engineers who avail the opportunity of subsidised education should be made to furnish a bond equivalent to what they would have incurred studying abroad if they do not serve in India for a mandatory period. These are the traitors who use our tax payers' money to study here and once they reach their land of dreams- the USA- they sneer at "native Indians". NRIs should learn from the NR Chinese community in the USA and then talk big. We can easily do away with their foreign exchange and their passports should be revoked. Thy are the ones who are encouraging imbecile ambassadors like Ronen Sen. The man now is trying to circumvent the real issue and saying he meant the mdedia and not "honourable MPS" after getting a tongue lashing from Pranab Mukherjee and afriad of facing the MPs in the House.

This nuclear deal dose not force or argue india to sign NPT or CTBT. NPT and CTBT is not in the picture at all. The deal is basically asking a gaurantee from india that the uranium supplied by the NSG for the civilian nuclear reactors will not be used for the military purpose. At the same time it dosn't stop india to source uranium other source for military purpose. non of our military nuclear reactors will be under safe gaurd, or there will be any cap on fissile material production. In return we get Dual use technology in the various feilds which can help development of our industries and economy.

Lefts are not oppose to the nuclear deal. but they are opposing it because the deal is done with US, whom they cannot trust. But if this deal was struck with China, they would singing and dancing in the street going ga ga over it by now. They can trust China , who will tell u that Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai, and stab u on ur back the moment u turn around. REds are worried about the India's improving relation, economy, standing, and political clout in with the world comunity, which they feel is at the cost of china.

think u missed few points...say you buy reactors worth several billions and if nation is compelled to test a nuclear device then u gotta return ur nuclear stock-pile...supplies arent guranteed in the event of nuclear test...deal is coming with some strings attached...

Ronen Sen's clarification
by SreenivasaRao K. on Aug 22, 2007 11:53 AM  Permalink

Both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Ambassador Ronen Sen are really tired of handling this vexed problem for several months now, and probably were disappointed with the developments now, and hence their recent remarks are only a manifestation of the frustration of their efforts failing and should not be in any other way. This is no fair way to treat these honorable men who have done yeomen service to the country. Let nobody frustrate them further. If anything better is possible they would have certainly got it for the country! If such men go we will be left with hardcore criminals running the country! We have just let a honorable go away from mainstream life. Let's retain the ones we have.

In order for this Nuclear deal to pass through US senate floor and congress, we (NRI) have worked very hard. As a Non Resident Indian, I have personally communicated with several our US Senators to make it happen. Please People of India, do not let us down. Please write an email / call directly Member of Parliment (who are oppsing this deal) expressing your support for this deal. Please people be strong. They have to listen to you. Shame on rediff

Shame on rediff and on the journalist for sensationalizing the issue and embarassing a good person. Rediff and its journalist should make a personal apology to the diplomate for breaking his trust. Anyways, if the ambassador is recalled, i am not visiting rediff again. Boycott a senationalizer. You are no better than the people sitting in the house. Feel shame rediff

It would be better if the journalists show the copy to the person who is interviewed ahead of its publication for any last-minute changes to avoid these kind of misunderstanding.

He is a "very good friend of the Ambassador"! So he has right to betray the trust!

His extent of "GOODNESS" explains where it may end if personal interest drives it!

Is he an ardent supporter of current "NUKE" deal? Not clear. perhaps he is, otherwise he would have contested Sen's observation.

What it signals?

"If he is this, then what his client USA can be"
BEWARE!

PM does for the US
by Sahadevan KK on Aug 22, 2007 11:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

On the first day Dr. Manmohan Singh started to work against Indian people. How?

On Sept. 30, 2004, The Planning Commission included foreign experts from World Bank and Mc Cancy as business consultants.

Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister signed a defense agreement with the US on July 2005.

July 18 2005 Held India-US Joint Press Conference.

U.S.-India Agricultural Knowledge Initiative Board included Wal-Mart and Monsanto members India-US agreed on agricultural collaborative research projects.

Signed in crores of arms deals.

UPA government left their independent foreign policy and voted two times in IAEA against Iran, even they have mentioned a free foreign policy in CMP.

Four Left parties suspended the UPA-Left coordination committee on share selling of Navratna PSUs. Then Sonia Gandhi made it cleared that it is halted.

Even then they have started to sell the shares of Nalco, Orissa and Lignite Corporation, Tamilnadu. Left and DMK's massive strikes were fruitful. DMK was ready to recall their ministers from Union Cabinet.

After Left's opposition in Pension Fund privatisation and 49% FDI in insurance sector could not implement till today.

He told a newspaper that He is going to resign. He told another newspaper that Left can withdraw support.

Left's outside support is crucial, even then Manmohan Singh try to avoid them. He thinks it is a child's play to lead coalition government.

Left is a menace for the states they have been ruling like WB & Karala and have brought poverty, backwardness and deindustrilisation.

Karat & Yechury are rootless and spineless power greedy fellows and have hijacked CPM Politbureau . These guys have not even won a housing society election and have marginilised the true comrades & MPs who have to face elction in their states.
This is the dirty politics within left.
Karat showed finger to Somanath Da when he wanted to contest for Vice President.
Like Chappel showed finger to Kolkata..
See how they want to prevent leftits of their own party.
These fellows R Gaddar not only towards their own country but also leftist comrades of better stature within their own left party.
Kick this dirty minded oppurtunits out from Politbureau.
