These Foreign service people have a very inappropriate sense of humour when it comes to commenting on the Indian political debates. Sen seems to have been carried away by the rhetoric he hears day in and dayout there in Washington DC than the Leftist Objections crying wolf at home. The sensible thing should have been to keep himself shut when the chips are down a bit for the Govt. he represents. It would not be a surprise if he pays for his so called off the record rubbish. Majority of the commis are Bongali & Mallus. Both eat rice..due to heavy rice intake they have indigestion..then they feel uneasy and start making noise in the Parliamen tover a non-issue. The Bongalis had even came onto street for inclusion of Saurav Ganguly(Another Bongali) in the Indian team. And what to say about a Mallu. Every mallu would sell himself for a few dinnars from gulf.Never trust a Bongali & a mallu....a very dangerous and deadly combination for the nation!!!!!!

Only 2 nations in the whole world are opposing this deal, China and Pakistan.... China has the Most Favored NAtion status with the US and opposes the same status for India. China has got a similar nuclear deal with the US bt opposes the deal with India... Jyoiti Basu of CPM protested against Indian defence againt chinese invasion of india in 1962 and was jailed by Nehru for anti India activities. Basu went on to become the CM of bengal. Commies never condemn Chinese claim of arunachal Pradesh whn the people themselves want top be part of India.. CPM opposes Indian nuclear progress bt has no problems with Chinas nuclear arming of pakistan whch are targeted towards India and supports iranian nuclear program. The communists oppose industrialiazation in India and went on killing 100's of poor farmers in Singur and Nandigram tryin to grab farmers fertile land for setting up industries. Commies are ruling bengal for more than 30 years now and have reduced bengal from being the finest to being the poorest.. Only big industry in commie ruled states bangal and kerala are trade unions and their number one product is strikes and bandh. Commies vociferously opposed introduction of computers by rajiv gandhi, commies cald computers as evil and against national interest. Commies neva condemned chinese invasion of India in 1962. Commies do not recognize aksai chin in kashmir as part of india. Use your logic now...

BJP is acting most wisely under these circumtsnaces. None of us is against Nuke deal but present accpted form showed lack of vision on part of Manmohan Singh. Manmohan being a second choice lacks leadership qualities and he has no talent for Dilplomacy. Why was not Manmohan able to get same set of agreement as Chinese ? Why American with us and with chinsese shows so much difference

Success of the deal is vitally important if our economy has to grow at the present rate. It does not mean that we have to give up our vital interests for the sake of the deal. But we also need to remeber that if want to get something, we have to give something. Basically we have to give our friendship to the US. True friendship is possible between two equals, which we are not. Once an Arab told me,"never be an enemy of America and never be a friend of America". But we are not Arabs. We have our inherent strength We have defied America many times, the highlight being freedom of Bangladesh. I do not see any reason why we should not be able to do it in future if need be. Surely we need America and they need us as much. Having said all these, I do not say that BJP & the left do not have any right to express their reservations, if any. So it needs a thread bare discussion, which unfortubately has not taken place. Before anything, BJP demanded voting with ulterior motive to create problems for Congress and the left. On an issue of vital national interest, they played politics for electoral benefit and that according to me is not nationalism. Left is well known for their anti national approach on many issues. After a thread bare discussion, if BJP's doubts were not addressed to, then they could have demanded voting and the nation would have supported their demand. Pl note, our deal is better than that of China's; Nation should be thankful to PM for that. Regards

This ambassador guy is stupid and likes to flirt with media all the time. I don't understand how does he gets time to write stupid articles in rediff.com. He is the ambassador in the most powerful and influential country in the world and he wastes his time with such stupid articles.
At the least one thing he can do is to ask his lazy consulate staff to work hard and answer the consulate phones. Those stupid guys sitting on their asses whole day and enjoying their US trips don't help Indian citizens at all. Ambassador should call them once to find out how arrogent his staff is. Instead of doing his duty he is flirting with media.
