Price rise, minor issue. Blue line mayhem, no issue. Farmers suicide, no issue. Farmers feeling insecure over SEZs , minor issue. Tea garden workers starving , no issue. Poor power infrastructure and extensive load sheddings, no issue. Service tax even on rs. 50/- top up card used by the poor workers like rickshaw pullers, thela walas etc, no issue. Religious fundamentalists threatening to behead a woman in public , no issue.

For the last three yrs on most of the mundane issues of roti, kapda, makan or bijli, sadak, pani issues of aam admi, the left was satisfied with some token protests and some arm chair rhetorics hardly requiring any direct confrontation with the UPA . If at all they stirred a bit more it was on macro issues like FDI, Disinvestment, rights of pampered Unions etc. etc. But the threat of American imperialism to the world and safeguarding interests of China and Iran seem to be the the most important life and death issues for the left. They think they are duty bound to fight for them even if it means pulling down the govt. midway thrusting mid-term election on the people. These issues are so dear to them that no sooner the n-deal was made public on the 3rd of this month our comrades were suddenly galvanized into action confronting the UPA govt. to go on an over drive kicking and screaming in public view in all the TV channels 24x7 threatening to pull down the govt.

What were they doing all these days?
by Vinod Rajendran on Aug 20, 2007 10:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

These Left politicians were sleeping/acting like sleeping all these days and finally they woke up to make India's reputation come down globally. All these are cheap games. They should grow up and learn how to behave/act/stand together for the nation on these issues which has impact internationally.

This was the time when BJP could have shown their true nationalism by supporting the Government. Everyone knows that Left party could not be trusted and their agenda is to support China, a country which is openly helping Pakistan in stock piling nuclear weapons against India.

Dr. Singh, yesman of Sonia, is nominated PM, the unseen hands of a Lady Sonia,
Commie Trojan horses meddling clumsily at all levels. It is a sinister combination of all interests together is undermining and maiming India. Every act of this government has a central theme, to divide the society, weaken institutions, demoralize security forces, arrest economic growth, limit India%u2019s diplomatic freedom and make India hostage to the capricious demands of its hostile neighbours.

The threat that India is facing today is decline of nationalism & growing influence regional and caste parties are exercising on central government. It is the agenda of the ruling coalition, its very nature and the common adhesive that cement them that have produced the most disastrous political environment. No other government since independence was accused of undermining the country. No other government was so much depended Communist parties whose loyalty to this nation was always in doubt. No central government in the last six decades had Muslim League as a partner and the vocal support of all the fundamentalist Muslim outfits in the country, PDP and NC of Jammu and Kashmir, Madhani%u2019s PDP of Kerala, Salauddin Owaisi%u2019s MIM of Andhra Pradesh and Assam United Democratic Front of Assam. This government is led by a weak , who has never won an election even at the lowest level, has no known intention of fighting one in the future and he is answerable to only to Sonia.

change of guard
by Padamprakash Bhatnagar on Aug 20, 2007 07:59 AM  Permalink

If the PM is hounded by thoughts of being eliminated via performing "havans",which in fact are to seek blessings and pious thanksgivings, the stress and strain is showing.
Yes, India badly needs a change of guard. The LEFT have shown what they are capable of,i.e.trade uninionism. After holding the centrestage and grabbing the headlines, they are waiting for the last straw to wriggle out. To hell with the nation.Who cares,it is the likes of you and me only, who don't count.

Communists must get China NOT to sign a nuclear deal with Pakistan
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Aug 20, 2007 07:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We all know that communists are well-meaning. To ensure that they protect the interets of India, they ought to use their influnence with China NOT to sign a nuclear deal with Pakistan. They should know more than anyone else the intentions of Pakistan and should use their good offices to a positive effect, rather than proceed with their current plans to destablise the PM.

At a point when everyone should stand together to support the government, the Lefts and some other parties are playing cheap

and nasty political games. Everyone can understand that what ever they are doing now is just because of regional pressures

(especially from sub standard left politicians from Kerala) and they dont understand how badly it affects India's reputation

globally. They are blindly rejecting the deal because they want to show support to China. But these people dont know that

China will never support India and they are building plans against India by grouping together with Pakistan. These Leftists

are indirectly supporting China and Pakistan which is their hidden agenda. At this point, the entire nation should wake-up

and isolate these cheaters.

I am not sure about the good intentions of the left parties in India. We should investigate the links they have with China and the money China is giving them to oppose any development that is taking place in India.

Is left parties really sincere??
by Yadagiri Madhav on Aug 20, 2007 07:39 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

With the current threat of withdrawl support to UPA in due with the nuclear deal. Left parties are trying to make huge amount of money for coming elections till now there was not much chance they had got, as there is a little time left for next elections they got banged on the nuclear deal to make full utilize of the oppurtunity by converting it to a big amount of deal of money as to continue the government at the centre till 2009 lok sabha elections. if left parties are really sincere in there demands they must quit & withdrawl the support immediately at the centre. but giving "damki" in the morning and getting "cooled" in the night, is that make any sense? this is all big drama which will make news for media. nothing benificial for common man. why these all politicians cannot understand common man problem and do the needful. no control on price rising in essential commodities, vegetables, bank interest rates, solving water, power problems even if we celebrate 100th independence day then also we may have to live in the same position what we are now

Left and NUCLEAR deal
by ashwani sharma on Aug 20, 2007 07:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This kind of political nonsense is not happening for the first time at the top level of governence.PM,SONIA,CONGRESS are running the this goverment with the help of left.It was then incumbent upon leadership to ensure proper sharing of information, secrets or no secrets, debate with allies beforehand to save this embarresing situation before the country.
Because of such mishandling we often see so much wastage of parliament's precious times that we often make laughingstocks of the nation.
This is not happening first time.During NDA Yashvant Sinha became ROLLBACK Sinha as he would annonunce decisions without proper consultation.
INDIANS expect our political leadership/s to know basics and importance of delegation, debate, dialogue to have consensus on such issues.Even the opposition should be consulted properly.

PM ,please accept that you or your think tank have commited great error and for GODSAKE dont tell us that BJP organised HAVANS to ensure your elimination.DONT FORGET YOU WORKED UNDER A PM WHO WAS MOST FAMOUS FOR TAKING HELP OF SUCH FORCES!
