USA has always supported good things like Secularism ,Democracy and Meritocracy , however their role has come under lot of doubts on many occassions when they have sided with wrong fellows... I agree that US is a secular and democratic country ,where meritocracy is given its due . I know meritorious people from India, Pakistan, middle east, Saudi Arabia, Syria ,Lebnon, Iran,Iraq , Japan ,China , Russia ....almost whole world , are recognised for their contributions based on merit in USA .
however,US has also played many diplomatic cards where they have sided with many rogue states as per their convenience and therefore their role in the world is based on their interest and are very bad. For example,US has always sided with Pakistan for last 50 years which is not a democracy( mostly a army rule) and supports terrorism ,whereas they have never supported India which is democracy. Only after 9/11,they have realised that India is also victim of terrorism and stopped funding Pakistan by giving billions of $ in arms. Pakistan itself is now ,of late trying to isolate the radicals and terroist after facing threat themselves at home. Hence USA does not have a very clean record.
Here in India, Left is a hollow and psuedosecular. Good that left is championing the casue of minorities in India...
But see when Nasrin ,Bangldesh writer who is trying to highlight the atrocities committed by radicals in Bangadesh on minorities i.e .Hindus ,she is branded as anti islam

Deal is good for India.
The commission involved in these deals are too high.1%? 2%? of this $25 billion.
America is not bankrupt.Its a foolish assumption.You should go there and see mate.
Once I was speaking to an I.T field American boss.He was saying I can pay more than 10 people with a single person U.S salary.More over I can get a fresher in India for I.T job for Rs 10,000 which is nothing for me.
The percentage of figures you have quoted above will come straight away to the pocket of the person who gives the people food three times daily.
It is mis fortune that BJP and Left are tying to pull legs of GOvt. and draging the nation 50 years back. Although I am a critic of Govt. and their various actions but this is the right step of govt. in national interest. Hope that left and right understand this fact sooner before too late.

Indian Hyde Act is needed in response.
While US is sending a strong message of economic panalties(atleast) in case of testing with its Hyde Act, one must tread carefully. Suppose we need to test, and the economic penalties are unrealistically large, this can allow a future Us government to take a hostile military action against india. We must have adequate measures to protect agianst that. One of the methods could be: 1. To engase US to disarm all its nuclear arsenal and use it for civilian purpose. 2. To increase international membership in IAEA. 3. To clearly define the maximum of the economic penalties in case of diagreement.
