Iran-India Pipeline
by Lalatendu Deo on Aug 10, 2007 05:13 PM  Permalink

Burn's suggestion to India for not to go ahead with Iran affair is somewhat acceptable, though not for the explicit reasoning from an American. There is always a definite fear that there would be a change of guard in Iran due to external reasons or otherwise, and if such a thing happen, we would be putting all our investments in a question box. But seeing the bleak scenario on the energy front in the near future, the investment risk is worth taking. Similar to the one through our upcoming agreement with the US for Nuclear Energy. A seemingly lucrative proposal of cheap long term oil supply was there for India to accept, when Saddam was in power. India had thoughtfully declined the Offer.

But Iran India Pipeline is not that risky. But if some one in Govt. of US says something we have to take note of it. One never knows.

Indias Foreign Policy
by rajni kant on Aug 10, 2007 05:00 PM  Permalink

Mr Senior official
It seems that india Has allowed its Foreign policy to be Dictated By Some Stupid person who has no love for This country and Its Citizes At All and is totally miscoceiving about itself. The Only Aim for India Is to"overpower" other countries ,Whether friendz Or Foes. Our (Indian Citizens) Position has been made like passengers of a hijacked Car Forced to dance to the TUNE of its Hijackers ( Russia and RAW)
Let our Hijackers Realize That in Order to create a place in The world affairs one Has to Achieve something. One has to have something to contribute to the humanity . Mere Nuisance Doesnt Work. I am sorry to say In terms Of world ranking we have Lost Miserably since 1991.Our relationships with Our Friendly countries Like IRAN,UAE ETc have deteriorated Not to Speak OfOur Neighbours some of them Even Hindu Rashtras(nepal ,Sri lanka Etc).
Still It is not Toatally gone. Let Our foreign policy be Decided in Open Rather than Behind the veils By Our Hijackers
SORRY To Use These Strong words But I am NOW Really desperate with Our Policy Makers
Rajni

Nuclear deal
by arungopal agarwal on Aug 10, 2007 04:22 PM  Permalink

Our PM deserves all praise for this deal. Our all nuclear plans ae in raw form India is to decide whether we need an atom bomb or civil use of nuclear power i.e. energy. In order to uplift the common man in the country, our PM has done a very good deal. Those who are opposing are prejudiced to BJP or left or do not understand the preferential requirement of the country.

Check out the Nicholas burns perception of the deal
by indiman on Aug 10, 2007 04:18 PM  Permalink

Burns is saying the idea that the US will work with friendly suppiers to builda reserve in case of a nuclear test is absolutely false. He is also saying that a specific agreement with regard to reprocessing will have to be negotiated in the future. Who do you beleive the Indian spinners or burns.

acid test ahead
by vinoth kumar on Aug 10, 2007 03:38 PM  Permalink

UPA govt will have undego acid test once parliment meets for this monsoon season.expect congress all political parties are against the indo-us 123 agreement.but congress says 123 agreement is important for the country's energy needs in future.despite their assurance other political parties are in no mood to accpect the 123 agreement.PM is expected to make formal discussion on the nuke deal in the parliment.so one can expect to see a noisy and uproar in the parliment in the days to come.it is the duty of the central govt to present a white paper on the nuclear deal.but what i personally feel 123 agreement will go a long way in the energy production of our country.though there are some provisions in the agreement that may go againt our forgien policy.but it will india in a long run.

How the PM is so confident that our Foreign policy will not be affected?

Have we not taken decisions under duress in past keeping the overall interest of the country.

NO ONE DARES TO CROSS AMERICA, THE EUROPEAN UNION, JAPAN, KOREA & TAIWAN ARE ALL SOLIDLY BEHIND THE USA. EVEN CHINA & RUSSIA KEEP QUIET BECAUSE THEIR FOREIGN INVESTMENT COMES FROM THE USA & EUROPE. THUS AMERICA IS ALL POWERFUL.

IF YOU ANNOY AMERICA, YOU WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE STONE AGE & INHABIT MUD-HUTS LIKE THOSE FOLKS IN CALCUTTA.

BETTER TO BE UNDER AMERICAN WINGS, THAN UNDER COMMUNIST OR FUNDAMENTALISTS BARBARIC BANANA REPUBLICS.

ALL COUNTRIES UNDER THE CARE & PROTECTION OF AMERICA ARE VERY PROSPEROUS. EG. GERMANY, JAPAN, TAIWAN, SOUTH KOREA ETC.

Why should we be under some one, Micky Mouse? There is no need to fall back upon on any country at this stage. If need be, we will see what exactly to do then. But certainly not on US. Never, Not a dependable Partner. Those who believe US as a country, they were doomed.
