Iran-India Pipeline
by Lalatendu Deo on Aug 10, 2007 05:13 PM

Burn's suggestion to India for not to go ahead with Iran affair is somewhat acceptable, though not for the explicit reasoning from an American. There is always a definite fear that there would be a change of guard in Iran due to external reasons or otherwise, and if such a thing happen, we would be putting all our investments in a question box. But seeing the bleak scenario on the energy front in the near future, the investment risk is worth taking. Similar to the one through our upcoming agreement with the US for Nuclear Energy. A seemingly lucrative proposal of cheap long term oil supply was there for India to accept, when Saddam was in power. India had thoughtfully declined the Offer.

But Iran India Pipeline is not that risky. But if some one in Govt. of US says something we have to take note of it. One never knows.
