Support Quota !!
by vinod v on Aug 07, 2007 11:03 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Any person who benefits from Quota (27% or 50%) should get into some kind of bond/conditions with Government.

1)They need to work only in India.
2)Doctors from quota work in Govt hospitals (city/rural) only 5 yrs full time no other place
3)Teachers teach in Govt Aided schools (urban/rural) only 5 yrs
4) Similarly each field person serves the corresponding fields in Govt.

Heavy fine/punishment laws who violate.

All the above measures will enhance the Govt Aided school/hospital/institutions and bring in par to Private and reduce the urban/rural parity.

If u want benefits from Quota need to give back to society. There is nothing like free lunch.

Let 80% OBC/SC/ST etc build the nation and be accountable in what u get.

Leaders supporting quota should execute a bond that they would not let any doctor belonging to an 'upper' caste toch their body.
Remember how the Garibon ka Masiha V.P. Singh ran to London to get his eyes examined!

Appeasement of SC/ST/OBCs is required because they were suppressed for thousands of years.

Sachha leader
by anup kumar singh on Aug 07, 2007 10:46 AM  Permalink

A true leader is one who see the entire people with one opinion, one view, and one perspective.

That%u2019s is why is Gandhi was a leader. Jay Prakash Narayan was a leader,
Ram Manohar Lohia was a leader.

The politician who divide the society based on cast are mare politician, and not leaders.

Keep Hindus divided
by A Singh on Aug 07, 2007 10:00 AM  Permalink

It is indeed interesting that to our secular leaders, to whom Hindu-Muslim unity is more important than eradication of Poverty and Hunger want to keep Hindus divided at all costs. By doing this, they are actually giving a choice to Muslims to choose the group they would unite with. If by any miracle, Hinus were to be united, Muslims will be left with no choice but to unite with the monolithic Hindu group. This is the only way to ensure Hindu-Muslim unity. But, no! Expecting politicians to see logic, is like expecting crocodiles to turn vegetarian.
Reservations will keep increasing. Can we have Hindu unity despite reservations?

RE:in logo ko kaun saja dega??
by on Aug 07, 2007 11:24 AM  Permalink
The main problem is that muslims never accepted India as their homeland. For them, their ummah is paramount. They want to build a global DAR-UL-ISLAM. This real agenda gets manifested in various ways. Babri mosque demolition n presumed oppression of muslims by west are mere smoke-screens.Muslim's loyalty always lies with their religion and UMMA not with the land which nourished them, be it India, UK, USA or France.
I think extre-territorial loyalty, intolerance towards other religion are more or less genetic to them. Before, pointing fingures towards others they should think about what they have done in the medieval times. Forced conversion and inhumane treatment towards hindus were order of the day. But, hindus are liberal enough to forget those uncomfortable past but muslims are yet to find themselves as a part and parcel of Composite culture of India.

End to reservations ?
by Padmanabhan M on Aug 07, 2007 06:48 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Founding Fathers of our great democracy expected reservations to last for a decade or so. But it seems it has only begun even after 60 years. So, will we get a reservation free India, ever ?
Why not freeze all reservations as of now for a year. From the next year, reduce reservations for each category by half a percent. This goes on till the quota becomes zero. This way, after about 50 years, our grandchildren may live in a equitable society.
But what is most important is to keep creamy layer out, every year so that the real needy in the backward communities get the benefit of reservations. Government funded schools of excellent quality must give free education to the backward communities till higher secondary, so that they can become competitive. For this, the government must develop partnerships with NGOs and private players.
I think people must debate options to genuinely free our country of the bane of eternal reservations. If it left to the politicians, we will have a divided and unjust society.

What else u can say about this article.:-)
he is using "his confusion" as argument?

Well, only thing I can say, what goes around comes around. Upper caste used caste system for their benifits, now the same caste system is being used by lower caste for their purpose.

destroy the caste system and get rid of the crap bag we are carrying for thousands of years! But how would u do that? what will happen to the multi-billion dollar economy controlled by upper castes based upon caste system.. their you go.. you do not want to lose what u have they want to gain what they dont have. fight will continue.

India will never be a real democracy until we have a social democracy

What else can "we" say about your confused reading of non-existent confusion in this article ?
The author's point is well-supported, you too use just another of those abuses as an argument;
and in the process, expose your own limitations of comprehension.

The author is not arguing either side of the reservation case ( though his views can of course be discerned by his tone & language ); merely stating so coherently the depressing lacunae in the current arguments pro & against.
That one side is merely abusing the second, rather than marshalling facts in support of their stand.

And it's eminently obvious that you couldn't get the thread of the piece right.

God save us from our own country-men, woeful debaters all.
And which is precisely the point this writer is making !!!!

P.S.
And it is not ".. their you go.. "; should have been ".. there you go.. ".
In case it's just an oversight, good for you.
Else, it shows up that you could only confusion where none exists !!!!

Poor and very funny arguments by the author.

Policies are not decided by shouting, they are decided by debates in our parliament.

And political parties support the affirmative actions because they know the ground realities. They know because they have to interact with them, to get votes for getting the power.

Although the upper caste politicians may not be personally in favour of reservations, for remaining in power his party has to continue with the policy. For they have to go the same people again for the votes.

The so-called "elite" class of India is ignorant as is fed with prejudice since the birth. All of economy is under the command of upper caste people. The government jobs and college seats reserved for Dalits only make them a servant.
All the wealth and land was unfairly grabbed since ages. There are no enterprenuers in India because they are killed and suppressed by the family owned businesses, who hold on to the wealth by all unfair means. They don't value talent, but the lineage. And this inscestous inbreeding leads under-utilization of the human talent. No wonder, India fares so poorly in all the competitions as only a fraction of population is used to pick our representatives from.
