Brilliant idea. But better still, he should get parity with Madhukar Satpotdar and be set free on the grounds of parity alone.
Sanjay is punished for 6 years in jail & it is a little harsh. However it is O K. What about the corrupt polititians who who have also nexus with anti socials, terrorists. They are moving freely with the blessings of Political parties.

For a very similar crime why was Madhukar Sarpotdar "set free by trial court"?
Several convicts have pointed out that a many politicians and policemen of Maharashtra -- notably Madhukar Sarpotdar of the Shiv Sena and sub-inspector Nikhil Kapse -- have got away scotfree.
According to yesterday's Hindustan Times Sarpotdar was caught doing a crime similar to Sanjay Dutts, under the Arms Act, but was "set free by trial court."

Madani was also set free and Guru is still not hanged.Sanjay has links with people who wants to distroy india. Lot of hindus were also killed in Mumbai and many other riots. how many muslims got convicted after doing riots.? Sarpotdar is not anti-india and did not go to pakistan and had training to distroy india.Ifhe was involved in killing muslims inriots then some other muslim leader is also involved in killing hindus in riots. both of them are free now.
mk GANGHI- is failed father and hubby. he wanted to known as saint in his later years of life. so whatever he did after 1940 is worst for INDIA including decision to make NEHRU AS A PM,money to pak, statement about hiralal (when he turn to muslim) etc, etc. when he hiralal left hinduism, gandhi told that what can i do???? its his life..( what a great father???) maulvi targeted this gandhi's son as he is weakness of gandhi. he is randibaj,drug addict and all kind of negative things in him. and mulas knows that people follow gandhi. so if his son covert to muslim. people follow him. and that happened. and mk gandhi did nothing.
about FIROZ ABBAS KHAN is gujju muslim and he want to justify hiralal act to become muslim.he was palying this play (gandhi vs mahatma) from long time but he wanted to reach all the people of india. and he got foolish anil kapoor.
so he is succecced in his way

This lady has gone nuts. Has she forgotten the chotta shakeel tapes? What Gandhian buys guns and grenades? May be she is in Coongress. Remember Dasmunshi said SD (drug addict and alchoholic) is a model for todays youth.
You forget one important aspect - it's not just the AK-47, but his continued close association with the likes of Dawood and his family even as late as year 2000 and later matters. So, all that you care is someone outwardly mouthing gandhian words and using it to make CRORES of Rs. and in the process, take gullibles for a ride, EVEN IF HE HAS THE AUDACITY TO CONTINUE HIS UNDERWORLD CONNECTIONS THAT DESTROY THE ENTIRE NATION!
What Sanjay has done, anyone else can, may be better - whether it be a Kamal Haasan or Mohanlal! It's stupid of you to give his filmy characters as a reason for being benign on him.
What's all this hero worship about Sanjay - a drug addict, who didn't treat his wife right till her cancerous end, has had many affairs, uses his hindu/muslim connections to his selfish advantage. Do you guys even care for the IISc prof who died, the 1993 and 7/11 mumbai blasts and the kashmiri pandits and soldiers who are killed every day. Oh, let's get a li'l real!!!

I mostly agree with your article. If you see justice in an Indian way, as a matter of truth and righteousness and some compassion, Sanjay has had his share of troubles. And he has not shown any intent to harm anyone or harmed anyone either. Sanjay would do more good if he is outside jail than in Jail and he has had enough punishment for lapse of judgement about his self protection. I do however think there should be some punishment as holding an unlicensed gun is a crime(and his old company) and others might learn from this. Maybe total of 3 years?

Question is, is he above the law? When Paris Hilton did a drunken driving, she was sent to Jail. Sanjay's crime is very big. Although he is let off by TADA, he knew or was part of bomb blast team. This judgment would tell high profiles like him and others that no body is above law. I think this is right judgment..

Nope, no one should be above law. But remember Sanjay has already gone to jail for 16 months. Also, bomb blast knowledge of Sunil Dutt is just an unfounded theory propagated by some people. It is highly unlikely that those terrorists would confide bomb blast details to Sanjay. However if this was proven, I would think 6 years was too light. With blast theory being a far fetched assumption, and self defense theory much more probable and admitted by court(based on threats), 6 years is too long
Vamsee Juluri, is a learned figure sitting in Sanfrancisco preaching idealisim. The facts are well known that huge weapons of mass destruction were unloaded at Sanjay dutt's Residence, for which Sanjay Dutt is not punished or held responsible for. It was not without his blessings that such a Truck load of Hand Granides & WMD were unloaded, by antisocials. It could not be proved in TADA Court whether it was with his permission or blessings that such such weapons were unloaded into his secured bunglow's Car Garage. The police could only prove that he picked up one of the AK47 with him from the load. When he was asked about his hour long tele conversation with Anis Bhai in Dubai while he was at TAJ Hotel in Nasik, he answered publicly in the courts saying he was drunken & did not know to whom he was chatting with for an hour long!. His meeting with Dawood at Dubai ? His possession of a Gun, Drug addictness , What message did it give all along to the youth of this country ? are they Gandhian values?. What punishment he would have been granted with his all anti social background & all the crimes he was a party to it in any another Democratic country like the US / UK that took 14 years to decide if he was really guilty of what ever he did?
Instead of preaching idealisim to the Courts of this country & the society why not preach him to distribute all the wealth he accumulated to the suferrers of Mumbai Bomb Blasts ?

very well said , it is utter nonsense to claim that Sanjay Dutt is any kind of a role model for youth. Its now evident that he has links with criminals . Why do we really have to know that Sanjay Dutt slept in his own clothes during his first night in jail, or that he had a banana and a cup of tea for breakfast the next morning ? Why noone expresses any sympathy for Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam who has been receiving threats for the better part of the past decade? Its high time when we need to change our mentality.

Calm down a bit please. There was no truck load of Hand Grenades and WMD. Maybe a rickshaw load :). You should know that he did not go out and seek to meet Dawood. He was introduced by Feroz Khan.
