Mr T V R Shenoy, you are an idiot!!
by vikas chib on Aug 03, 2007 06:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I quote your lines..'inally, what does the media brouhaha say about us reporters? Did we really have to tell the world that Sanjay Dutt slept in his own clothes during his first night in jail, or that he had a banana and a cup of tea for breakfast the next morning?'

Now tell me why the hell you have wasted your time in writing this article if you are condemning others discussing about Sanjay. You better get your thougths right before you start penning down.

Grow up buddy, why such contempt for a writer who highlights the profession's faults ?

Your reading is at terrible fault here, Mr. Vikas. A bout of Reading Comprehension exercises would help. There's something called "tone" in writing. And you should get that, to completely understand !!

By quiestioning the media's intent in going overboard on Sanjay-reporting, Mr.Shenoy is not trying to draw attention to himself, unlike what your limited and HIGHLY PREJUDICED understanding implies; on the contrary he's merely stating, 'yes, the media is unnecessarily going overboard'.

Ever thought of English classes ?

Nice Article
by Lewis Peter on Aug 03, 2007 06:01 PM  Permalink

A nice article Mr Shenoy. No doubt the media has gone overboard on the reporting of Sanjay Dutt. Just wish that all those politicians who have committed more heinous crimes and are roaming free disguised as doves get worse sentences than this.

I think the media should be more fearless in reporting on such issues. Whatever happened to the DEFENCE SCAM that tehelka exposed?

Javed Jaffery's song from Bombay boys sums it all

"Chota Chota matter bane police, bada bada matter gul without trace"

this guy asks why it took 14 years for sentencing. that should be a question to the judiciary, in that case not only sanjay dutt but also all those who delayed the justice for so long are equally cuplable. the guy started with $78 oil barrel, and drifted to sanjay dutt topic , when the irony is he himself shouting why hue about dutt. halkat tu bhi wohi bolra.
Sanjay dutt is being discussed every where, do not take his case to highlight your points......
bagao halkat ko

You too buddy... if you don't get the import in the first paragraph, stop right there !!

You have no business reading ahead, with that twisted understanding of yours; only to come up sullying the reputation of some earnest writer who wants to make a point or two in the mad, celebrity-crazy world of yours !!!!

You haven't even understood why the point of "$78 per oil barrel" was made !! and you go on to append enough qualifications to your arrogant self ..... to start bad-mouthing columnists for their opinions !!!!!!

What a pity !!! Gives me the creeps, and the devil his due !!!

For your explanation :
The "$78 per oil barrel" point was raised to bring home the irony to nut-heads like you that there are enough SERIOUS issues begging out for our/govt's collective attention, but unfortunately, the media finds more value in reporting about what Mr.Dutt slept on !!!!

That's the point.

I too found it to-the-point article buddy.
I completely agree with Mr. Shenoy.
Also had Judge set Mr. Dutt free, everyone on these forums would be making villain out of him. In this entire episode, judge and public prosecutor are the reasl HEROES.
Hats off to you both.

Agree Mr. Shenoy.. but...
by prasoon chaudhary on Aug 03, 2007 05:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

First of all, about the last three paragraphs of this article, for which you've got so much applause in this discussion board:

Para 1 - ...but after all this it is utter nonsense to claim that this man is any kind of a role model for youth
- Mr Shenoy, if a person after using so much drugs and all, gives up all bad habits, certainly it's a point to note on. And as far as role model is concerned, yes he is the role model for those youth who are wasting their life with drugs. Remember, Gandhiji said it's bad to steal/drink only after stealing and drinking himself.

Para 2 - ...did you see any channel interviewing anyone who had lost a friend or relative in the Bombay Serial Blasts?
- Yes I saw, and it was so pathetic to ask a relative 'How are you feeling?' by all news reporters. Remember, there are people who are eager for news that you cited in your statement, and those who don't like this news, always have option to change channel. This is India; here KANK and Matrix both are hit, because each was made for separate class.

Para 3 - ...the twin messages that actions have consequences and that nobody is above the law.
- Wrong Mr Shenoy, all politicians are above the law. I can remember a song from Mujrim - 'pakda gaya wo chor hai..jo bach gaya wo sayaana hai..'

Now regarding the verdict, verdict is fine no doubt, but for what?

Why a person get sentence? For three reasons:

So that, example is set and no one will dare to do the same - well if verdict comes

Continued..

So that, example is set and no one will dare to do the same - well if verdict comes after 14 years, who cares?

So that, in prison that person will do good work and hence when freed will be no danger for society - well, was there any incident in these years after that episode, that proves that he is a danger? Court should have checked that.

So that, those people get consolation against whom the person was directly involved - well, direct involvement means rape and murder, and as per my knowledge he didn't commit that.

I am not saying that if a person does wrong, he should not get penalized, but in this case, this verdict is good for nothing.

that means you forgot that police recorded him talking to someone bhai. The transcript of that is also in public domain. If he had mended himself he should not have spoken to dons.

T V R Shenoy a Jealous Person
by mohammed sufiyan on Aug 03, 2007 05:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think the writer of this above column is feeling Jealous about Sanjay Dutt's attention that he gets from the Media. Also I think that he Feels Happy when a celebrity is Punished. I think that Bigger Hard Core Criminals in the Form of Politicians are roaming freely, then Why cant Sanjay Dutt. Moreover He just Bought a Gun & did not Kill anybody, Like 1 Chief Minister of a State Who Master Minded the Most Heinous Crime Humanity Has witnessed in the State of Gujrat.

TVR Shenoy is not jealous ...The hype that has been created with the money of the manipulators to build a personality called Sanju Baba to win the sympathy and followings for the actor but not the star. He was just a %u2018bigda huan aulad of Amir baap%u2019 ....with the friendships he built. Now the old saying ' show me your friends...I will tell you who you are%u2019 is proven to be credible%u2026%u2026.. Unwanted misery for the family members including the parents.

Lesson: Be wise enough to choose your friends!

Ask Sanju Baba... he will definitely agree with this. It is tried and tested conclusion...WISDOM.

Keep troublesome TERRORISTS AWAY...HUMANITY IS MORE VALUABLE THAN FRIENDSHIPS...RELIGIOUS KIND!

Sanjay Dutt ......Celebrity ???????

Politicians are empowered by their electorate to be protected against criminal religious terroristic jihads....They have to be protected. That too in a Democracy the voter has everyright to claim for action from his representative. This might some times not please other groups as they are governed by a different concept of killing for the sake of Jihadism.

Human survival ismore important than emotional fanatic religious killings.

See the difference, now , discipline is instilled and every one is coexisting. which was not possible before the tough plotical stand. Sometimes canning is necessary to control the revolting pupils....to behave responsibly for the happy social living in a secular way.

Sanjay can not do the same as an individual. Naturally one man can not take punitive action against any one ...that too innocent city dwellers.

bingo
by Nik on Aug 03, 2007 05:41 PM  Permalink

Certainly a bingo article, coming after a prolonged hype about Sanjay Dutt.

I don't know Sanjay Dutt, and I bet many of us don't know him. I know Munnabhai, and I feel sorry for Munnabhai being sent to jail. this is where sympathy for Sanjay Dutt started growing. Confusing him with Munnabhai.

As we don't know Sanjay Dutt, its law who has best decided what Sanjay Dutt really is.

Please my dear country(wo)men, don't get confused with Sanjay Dutt and Munnabhai. One is real and other is reel character.

Sanjay Dutt did a crime in the best of his mental health, and as well grown up person. He is rightly put back behind bars, not too harsh, maybe bit milder punishment considering his fan following and other reasons.

by rohit bajaj on Aug 03, 2007 05:31 PM  Permalink

I am really happy to read this article and feel atleast someone in this nation of morons thinks differently. Being a celebrity is like incarnation of god in india...no matter what he does then...have terrorist mates...do rapes..induldge in mass murder and u name it...!! we need to understand no body is above law..and if u do not accept this...then better start lobbying to get ...one law for celebrities n politicians....n other law for the common man. Dont be movie fanatics mates...do something to bring India outta clutches of so called third world.
