Nalanda
by ramachandran nair on Apr 24, 2007 05:56 PM  Permalink

A step in the right direction. Go ahead and do it before it is too late. A laudable and commendable idea. Rebuild the university for the students who ever wants to pursue his or her studies either from Indian or from other nook and corner of this universe. Open it to all.

Nalanda - The magnamaous history of education
by Golu Gayani on Apr 24, 2007 05:51 PM  Permalink

God, if India realizes the glory and fame of Nalanda and takes one step to build it, I am sure all the countries would chip in and build this seat of higher education back to its glory.
This was the heart of education where schilars from all around the world use to come to education.
India is so rich in its heritage, culture and resources but the zeal, lust and thriving is missing in Politicians to bring the glory back to the country.
My heart weeps when I read history and see India today.

A history that is forgotten has the capacity to repeat itself.

this is a good idea.. but the fact that Amartya sen is involved in the rebuilding, his version of holocaust would be 'brahmins butchered othere at Nalanda'... and there would be some psycho chaddi-na-pehenne-walas who would subscribe to that version of holocaust..

You would probably want Pravin Togadia as the vice-chancellor. Must be your dream guy, him and Murli Manohar Joshi.

Shahabuddin should be shot. Illiah respected. As a point of view. I might disagree with him, but that does not mean he is not worth respect.

Babri. Tehelka. Traficking.
And where does the question of not respecting Hinduism arise? I, a Hindu, think the VHP and the Bajrang Dal are a travesty of what my religion is about. The problem with India is that we have only the corrupt Congress and the communal BJP and its parivar. Togadia is just as bad as Bukhari. And where is this abusing Hinduism bogey that all you rightwingers keep harping on come from?

Who's defending Congress? Who in their right minds would defend the corrupt Congress? But Togadia is just as bad as Bukhari.

RE:Political Conspiracy against a Society

Rohit. No one is arguing that the British were good or that our past is not glorious. But to think that EVERYTHING about our past was good is over-simplification. And why do you see Kalam as a Muslim? Can't you just see him as a great human being? Religion is a personal thing, utilising it for political gains has been the bane of our country (for example when Kashmiri Hindus were driven out of their homeland, and when Babri was demolished. To me both were equally wrong, equally dirty). Sure, the past is full of blood. But why carry that bad blood burden into the future? Why can't we unite for a better India? Why do you spew venom against globally recognised -- and yes, that IS important -- Indians? Just because you do not agree with their version of the past? Even it IS the truth?

Great News

My heart filled with happy, when I read Nalanda coming back to its way. But I fear for the same at the same time. Because Islam invaders destroyed the Nalanda university many centuries back, but now we dont want any invaders, because we have our own invaders, stupids, living demons in the form of Congress leaders, Marxist leaders who might be desperately planning to stop the Reconstruction of the great University.

Becuase these fellows have got orders from "Ammaji" from Top not to support this, as She has conversion plans, which will be hit when University comes back.

Oh God, save INDIA and its culture from this stupids and devils.

I agree with u but partly. This Univ was and will be for the world and not just for Bihar or India. U r downgrading its ancient culture and the future that it holds for mankind.
