Rohit. No one is arguing that the British were good or that our past is not glorious. But to think that EVERYTHING about our past was good is over-simplification. And why do you see Kalam as a Muslim? Can't you just see him as a great human being? Religion is a personal thing, utilising it for political gains has been the bane of our country (for example when Kashmiri Hindus were driven out of their homeland, and when Babri was demolished. To me both were equally wrong, equally dirty). Sure, the past is full of blood. But why carry that bad blood burden into the future? Why can't we unite for a better India? Why do you spew venom against globally recognised -- and yes, that IS important -- Indians? Just because you do not agree with their version of the past? Even it IS the truth?
