Great university
by chinni on Apr 24, 2007 11:25 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

i hope the international funding for this project will not be misused by the corrupt politicians. Also there shud be no reservations
on the basis of caste and region(who knows the politicians after a decade or so will try to use the same quota policy for locals as this is in bihar)Another thing to worry is the security. Because of some local goons no body wants to work in Bihar.they will not spare any one a doctor, engineer, lawyers, govt employees.
They will loot any one for quick money. i hope that will change

Haha, now is that an excuse for the oppression they have suffered, i am not that aware, all those times immemorial? Fine if you really feel reservations are necessary limit it to the needy and not a blanket case of caste. huh.
The Govt has failed , miserably, in this quota policy as we see it for 60 years.
Hope there are better solutions to it.

India - The light of the world
by Vijay Ram on Apr 24, 2007 11:23 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India was once the light for the whole world. Over many centuries this status was eroded until it was barely visible by the end of the 20th century.

Now finally, India is beginning to rise again and it is time for it to embrace the world in its warmth as it once did.

Nalanda must admit students from all over the world. It must also have an internal cast of teaching and administrative staff, so that it is recognized as a gift of India, but a property of the world.

Every graduate of Nalanda must be given PIO rights so they can visit the country when they wish and spread its message far and wide.

A long term plan must translate Nalanda into only the first of a series of universities built on the four corners of the country that symbolically as well as practically, returns India back to its universalist past. Taxila is in Pakistan? No matter, we will build a new one in Punjab.

Probably we are asking 2 much! Bihar, the craddle of Indian Civilization where Buddha once reigned, Chandragupta established first Indian Empire (which was bigger than today's India) also endured 15 years of LALU YADAV Rule!

Miracle do happen, but not often where Lalu Rules for 15 years:)-

Future of Humanity, Pride of India
by rohit roy on Apr 24, 2007 11:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why you called Nalanda: "greatest university of India?" why did you feel shame in calling the real fact:"Greatest University of World"?.
Nalanda was the first university of the world, which gave entire world some most glorious world and made India richest and strongest of world.
I salute our president Kalam and Nitish Kumar for bringing Nalanda back. Also it's is tremendously heart warming to see that Project Nalanda has become a platform of Asian renaissance. Certainly it will not only bring glory to Bihar and India but also to entire east and will stand at the top with quality. Hope our coming generation would be able to study in this prestigious univresity and bring glory to world civilization.
government of India should not leave any stone unturned in making this international project a huge success. Thanks rediff for this News. Also I observe that rediff guys are now doing better job by talking some postitive news which enthralls our self esteem and put back our believe in positivities of life.

Please open the history archives before suggesting me to control my emotion.
India was the strongest country during Magadh empire which was the cause of escape of Alexanderian force and annexation of Persia in wast and Malaysia in east into India.
It's Samudragupta during which the world used to call India Soen ki Chidiya, the richest country of world. Even in 1807, britisher Mculay had written about India that it was much richer than Britain and many present day rich nations.
The thing is that most of we Indians have lost the capacity to read and enrich our knowledge and this si why your kidn of people are there raising objections to facts. So sir, first become even that much eligible first that to know about yourself and your civilization. it will restore your faith too.

A country's true measure can be found from its media. No wonder, Indian's present chaotic status is evident from Indian media.

Mr Amitabh Bachhan is far far far better ,most dignified among the bollywood actors. In Bollywood , where there is somuch of underworld money & influence making it the diificult to believe that good and decent actors /movie artists can survive there. Among them ,he is one of the great icons and shining star with so much of low grade and cheap ,shoddy stuff around.
So pleeezzee support the good. If you have to make noise make for the mess that we find our society in .Do't hit the good fellas, target the bad ones...

it's controversial but strongly believed. He was in India for 15 years and some reports tell that he was associated with eastern India budhdhist university at that time. Only Nalanda was there at that time and that too in east of India. Swami Vivekananda had confirmed that he had styed for soem time in Puri sun temple while a big russian author has reported him having education in Nalanda.
catholics fight over this fact and obviously like many hidden facts about Jesus, they concealed it. But Jesus has been in Nalanda is a very strong theory, gaining weight specially after recent research progress.

Rohit: I understand what you are saying. There are much material in the net on Jesus's connection with India, specially Kashmir!

But, I think those are of more prpaganda in nature by Western Missionaries who are now hell bent in converting Asia, and particularly India.

It helps them if they can somehow establish 'autheticity' of jesus in India from antiquity.

After all, the much popular belief that Saint THOMAS CAME TO INDIA IS A CRAP. HIS BODY LIES SOMEWHERE IN MIDDLE EAST. AND EVEN POPE DOES NOT RECOGNISE THAT THOMAS CAME TO INDIA.

These types of myths are perpetuated by vested interests to confuse (and ultimately convert) unsuspecting poor Hindus.

Reverse statement Bhaskar. Swami Vivekananda himself had written that Jesus stayed in Puri. It is not a propaganda but a fact and strong theory. Jesus was a student of budhdhism and hinduism. How this fact can convert hindus to christanity. Don't feel scared for Hindusim. It has survived worst times, it's oldest and only it can survive even after catastrophe becuase hinduism is not religion but definition of a civilzed life, mother of all religions. She will be always there. let others fight and do any despo things. respect hinduism and don't fall like this.
