Rediff has set a very wrong example by posting Orkut messages here, those are personal messages meant for personal friends. I really dont understand what is rediff trying to prove by posting those orkut messages.she is gone , pray for her, please do not make a mokery of her personal life......

Orkut scraps are viewable by anyone and everyone, the person to whom it belongs has every authority to delete it if he/she does not want others to go through it and to go even further u can post messages to the person for more privacy...common all u guys out there including the one who posted this message must have sometime gone through someone's scraps....THEN WHY THIS HYPOCRISY!!! I find nothin wrong in this article...

You got it absolutely worng, Orkut is a circle of trusted friends. U wonder why u never get orkut results on Google, because they are PRIVATE!, meant to be for the network, its a pity anyone can enter it. You will understand if someone writes ur scraps in public.
Guys - messages on Orkut are meant for public viewing... there is absolutely nothing wrong with publishing it. Please understand that Orkut is not someone's private diary but a public statement to everyone.

orkut is a friendship networking site, where we keep in touch with our friends and mutual friends, any one can visit any one's profile, but for a responsible board like rediff to post such messages on their bullitin board will generate unwanted and unwelcome interest in Minals profile , and also of her greaving friends profiles, which will definately not be appreciated by most of them, not atleast at these times I guess.....

It is obviously for public viewing but viewing is limited to orkut members and it is a discussion happened between her and the other person. If a third person wants to post those messages then I think permission should be taken from both the parties, in this case, from her friend. Posting without permission like this is kind of wrong.
And if I was at rediff's place, then I would have never done silly thing like this.
by ankit khale on Apr 19, 2007 08:26 PM u ppl at rediff hae lost ur mind..n r publishing just fr da ske of sensationalizing news...the person has already faced such brutality, n u ppl r tryin to make busks out of it... its pathetic...
It's very lame of rediff to post her personal messages on here... She is dead for god's sake... you should not idg into her profile to check what she was upto...
Hey all, If Orkut is allowing to see personal messages of others, why can't a third party website publish it. Stop this foolish comments and try to remember a charming girl who lost her life to some maniac Thanks Rediff for making the article intimate.
Think what would have happened if any one of the victims in Norris Hall had a gun with. The things would have been completely different. The school does not allow guns in the campus, which is good, but then how he brings a gun on campus? If they can not implement their policy, then change the policy, allow everyone to carry gun, then at least they will be able to defend themselves. This works same as nuclear weapons. No country wants to use nuclear weapon against other because everyone has it.
