Thorium as a nuclear fuel
by harifromchennai on Apr 13, 2007 05:31 PM  Permalink

What happened to research on thorium as nuclear fuel? I gues India, must be riding on that factor and bargaining heavily. India had thorium reserves in vast and trying to make it as an alternative to uranium. And also, any dependency with US will always lead to black mail. It is a honey trap and if we fell, there will not independent view on any issue for India and all will be dictated by washington. India has to do business with equal-equal terms. If you don't outsource to India, you loose cost cutting and hence profit margin.

US likes business on self-interest basis. Yeah they definetely hate stupid emotions in way of their interests. That should be the way India should behave too.

USA is not reliable
by suhas natyan on Apr 13, 2007 05:26 PM  Permalink

If they cant go with deal and put lames on us then there is no point in going with them. We will work hard and will prove them that they need us, and WE DO NOT NEED THEM.

Our relation with Iran is different thing and with Russia is different. Why should we spoil our relation with any country who is helping us or of some benefit to us just because USA is not getting petrol or gas from that. Come on man we are grown up and smart enough too to understand the tacttics.

But finally ask Indian scientists, do we really need this deal otherwise put it in garbage.

by Vimala S on Apr 13, 2007 05:24 PM  Permalink

War, and another War, and subsequently a war with a plan of one or two in queue. Big brother ..interfering everywhere. Support openly extented to Pakistan, using Osama Bin Laden to spoil Russia. Lot of illegal activities done by the U.S. government, using CIA ...etc.. fooling the American citizens..illegal traffic of money and prompt payments to its official enemies..? Do you people find any words to describe AMERICA?

arrey bhai, China is the real supplier. You should go directly go to the source instead of middleman like North korea or Paksitan. It makes more economical sense. Besides, that China also customize nukes and missiles based on your requirement. For instance, you can decide the paint color for your missiles. Ask, Pakistan for getting best rate on paint. They are the master in this arena.

I give Mr.Veera Kumar the title 'Highest cool Man', with a request to consider a free breath for just jokes. Nobody is going to do that ..they are only expressing their anger. It has gone so much and ventilating their emotions.

very strange comments from US
by suhas natyan on Apr 13, 2007 05:20 PM  Permalink

Personally i think that we should not go on with this deal. Already we do not have enough support from our scientists as they fear of the consequencies of this deal. Besides this the problem of fuel will be there even if we go with deal.

This is best time to drop the idea and put blame on US of using this language "The Indians are being greedy,"

Get rid of this deal. It will damage India
by Serial Tourist on Apr 13, 2007 05:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It will be good for India if the deal collapses. The deal is very damaging to India and will give US total control on our nuclear assets. There will be US inspectors coming here to inspect our facilities without warning. It bans further testing or development. All Indian nuclear scientists are dead against it. It is just a US trick to defang India's nuclear programme. India should get out of it as soon as possible. All this talk of India being greedy is to put psychological pressure on us to sign on the dotted line as they wish.
