hay guys... realise the fact... we love cricket.. there is no doubt in that.. i love cricket too.. i always try to watch matches of india.. and when india wins.. i shout the most out of joy.. i feel great, happy.. bcoz its india is winning something.. isnt that natural?? i think that is.. but being indian.. being a cricket lover.. we cant justify the game itself.. actually this game really sucks.. in the neutral point of view.. when it was introduced it was a game of old people.. england is a cold place.. the summer in england is a very enjoyable time.. so they just wanted to enjoy the sweet sunlight.. they go to the ground and enjoy the sunlight.. but its so boring to sit idol and chatting while in the sunlight (unlike indians).. so they introduced this game which is played by old and senior people and rest of the crowd enjoy that.. thats the history.. u can get the details of that every easily in net.. now think carefully.. how many countries in this world play this game.. notice that.. most of the countries play this game was a british colony once.. India-Pakistan-Bangladesh-SriLanka.. british colony South Africa.. british colony Australia.. all the criminals from the whole Europe was punished by keeping in that island.. WestIndies.. british colony like this all the countries are either british colony or not a 1st world country.. so after having a great history why cricket didnt spread throughout the world like any other game.. even golf is being played by more countries than cricket.. its only because cricket is time consuming, non-entertaining, lazy game.. its a lazy game.. thats proved by the statement that its a gentlemen game.. bcoz its not a game of power, speed, aggressiveness, skill compared to any other popular games in the world.. and if someone is telling its a hard game to play.. i can just LOL.. nothing else.. so.. being indian we have the right to love the game.. i love it too.. and the reason behind that.. its india which is playing.. and u know.. i feel happy if india can achieve any good thing in any game.. doesnt matter what the game is.. being an indian its my right to be happy and give support.. but after removing the indian feelings.. if i look at this game.. its a useless and non-sense game ever that one should play.. and of course.. cricket is changing.. its being tough.. with more skill.. and hard working game.. but still it lacks so many things to be among the most popular games in the world.. so.. best of luck... to CRICKET
Yeah, cricket is such a waste of time. So is football and hockey. So are tennis and baseball. Lets stop playing any game, they are all a waste of time.
The government should ban sports. No one should waste time playing, since so many man-days are wasted.
I think we Indians just get emotional about cricket and there is nothing wrong in it. Witness the US version of the same thing WWF. This is pure entertainment and a media circus. people have made fortunes and all manner of challenges, insults and acts of bravado are done in full view of the audience. That anything popular is destined for this end is now a truism. Everyone seems to be winning, the audience loves it, the BCCI rakes in millions, the cricket players seek a glittering career, the coaches-international acclaim and finally the match fixers who took make hay. If there is any other industry that shares the same fate it is elections to our governing bodies. Indians like to have fun and cricket provides all the fun of a circus, so why lament and lose sleep over this tamasha.
I am not a philosopher, but I am a sports enthousiast and also an art lover. In any game or art, one should give prominance to art. Either cricket or art forms such as music, dance or painting. This discussion is blindly going towards the cricket and its player, but not for its soul. The soul of cricket lies in loving the game. Anyone who loves the game, he should love the game not the personalities. This way the game will provide more opportunity to talented people.
With due respect to all the cricket fans and their high intensity arguments, unfortunately they are coming back to individuals while they argue.
When money roles in... the art will die....
Any star is not a star as long as he is not won over himself....
Unfortunately, we have not seen any brave cricketeer, who can come above these attraction...
This is will culminate into a tragic death of art and victory of capital muscle..
Only people who love the cricket can change this by encourgaing the right way.
Cricket is a gentlemen game but INDIAN Cricket team is worst. They don%u2019t have dedication on the game. Our players good at individual records. Our team plays well only in INDIAN pitches.
If you think its a waste of time, try Twenty20. And please stop writing nonsense. Nobody sits in front of TV watching Test matches anymore, we just follow the scores.
>> This is more than 3.5 times the number of man-days lost to strikes and lockouts (30 million) in a year!
And hey, look who is talking about wasted man-days !!! Hahaha...

do you know how many staffs waste their time in listening or watching this idiot game??
Hockey is not an Indian game, yet we give it National game status. Instead we should prompte Kho Kho, Kabbadi, etc ... like Americans promoting Baseball.... What U guys Say?? ... Kho Kho is as much fun as football, etc... and there is nail biting movement from start till end....

I dont know whether the quote u mention is authentic. The first drawn test match was in 1946-47 after world war II (earlier they used to have timeless tests which were played to a finish). By 1946-47, no one knew where Hitler was. Anyway, nice try
