narayana murthi as president
by tarun maheshwari on Apr 17, 2007 09:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

it's a great deal to have mr. murthy as the president.. but a president with no powers with him. president in india, means almost nothing.
So, let mr.murthy deal with infy. with this, atleast the share market will not fall.

The President
by Open Talk on Apr 16, 2007 05:36 PM  Permalink

we are very sorry to say that... instead of being an learned and well educated person.. the president of India is nothing but a show piece.. who gives some lecture to school children.. and do the inauguration of several occasions.. there is no power with him.. there is no support with him.. there is no responsibility with him.. and an old, clam, educated person is just enjoying his last few days of his life with a great respect.. and the leading party people are doing as they wish.. and we are thinking that a very good, well-educated person is leading us.. we are being foolish.. as we are being with our present prime-minister.. good, educated, clam but weak person.. why he is there.. bcoz the noble lady knows apart from him no other strong (not physically i mean) person will not listen to her.. so, she got a umbrella for her.. she is taking that wherever she wants.. but with a shed.. she has the power.. but not the focus (in problems).. thats the way its going.. we can accept or dont accept.. if someone think with a very neutral mind and obviously should have a mind to think.. then anyone can see the truth.. if someone dont wanna see (most of us, poor Indians are like that... 500 yrs of slavery proves that-300 yrs mughals, 200 yrs British) then.. thats also fine.. we are like that.. tolerant.. dont even feel to move.. happy with roti-dal..
so.. whoever can be the president.. doesnt matter for the really needy, poor people among us.. the president understands everything.. but nothing he can do... so until he will be given power there is no point who is the president.. we have enough well educated, clam person in our country... so anyone is welcome

Kalam wants Narayana Murthy as Prez
by kunuthur srinivas on Apr 15, 2007 08:05 AM  Permalink

The title 'Kalam wants...' is misleading if not mischievous on the part of news media concerned. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam befitting his position, would never commit himself in favour of one individual to succeed him as the President of India. Even if he had stated, it would be purely his personal opinion. He is very well aware of democratic process that goes to make any body as the President of India. Let no body undermine the spirit of responses of our Scientist turned President of India. Finally, one should be fair to admit the fact: If Amitabh Bachan, the film actor is projected as the successor to Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, can the stature of Dr Narayanamurthy be underestimated to succeed to the Presidentship of India? How long the people of India be fooled by divisive political forces of the country?

Myth of ''Upper caste poors''
by Kittu on Apr 14, 2007 01:00 PM  Permalink

Dalit Bahujan/OBC/Muslims should not recognize the boogie of so called "Upper caste poors". Poverty cannot be related to Upper castes. Poverty in India is defined alone around the image of Bahujan samaj which is at the verge of civic society.

Lets not get deceived by the notions of "poor Brahmin". There is nothing like a poor Brahmin. Coversly, even if a Dalit becomes rich, he ramains socially backward and stigmatized. The definitions of poverty is still applicable to him as he is yet to get free from caste barriors.

Dalit/OBC/Muslims should not recognize or acknowledge poor upper castes. This is a ploy to prevent reservations law.

Lets not make Narayan Murthy a hero. He is a business man, and all he did was to make Infosys profitable and run the company well. We Indian have a great ability of making people gods even when people just do things which they are supposed to do. In a way this is so sad, since someone doing a job they are supposed to be is rare for us.

He is indeed a business man. But remember you need a lot of business sense to run a country. So its acutally a boon! In the west its quite common for biz people to get gov. responsibilities. Having said that, in India the job of the president doesnt have much of power. However, people like President Kalam and Murthy do a lot of good to the image of the country! So if Kalam doesnt want to continue, y not Murthy?

Let Mr.Murthy provide housing near his units
instead of allowing them into the city, leave
alone providing housing to millions as a
president. IT employees are a cause of concern
for high cost of living in Bangalore and
Hyderabad, for the other sectors.

Another IT fallout is the dress habits of
the IT crowd. In the name of lifestyle alien
clothing and dress habits are encouraged.
Let Mr.Murthy make his company truly Indian
in all aspects. We should not lose identity.

Questioning Propriety - Is that abuse?
by Parantap Sahadev on Apr 12, 2007 09:09 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I had a posting on this site asking the propiety
of a Current President talking about the appointment of the next next one. That has been removed as abuse.
I don't know what is abusive in that. Well, if you define abuse to be anything that you don't want to hear, then this discussion is nothing more than a propaganda and you should mention that in your agenda. Pretense of freedom is worse than absense of it.

Probably the Moderator didn't get my sarcastic comments.
