Justice Delayed is Justice Denied?????
by Ashish Tikku on Oct 17, 2006 04:31 PM  Permalink

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied. Surely this holds true in this case but really a shocking how someone can make mockery of justice system in India get acquitted in some weird manner and go on to practice law.
The remarks by the high court bench on the manner in which CBI has handled the case raises question beyond doubt on the functioning of the agency as independent body....
Hope this will send a strong message to CBI and lower court on the manner in which case was handled. All the investigating officers in this case should be suspended and stern action should be taken against them.

A Blow for Justice
by Concerned citizen on Oct 17, 2006 04:28 PM  Permalink

Justice is done when the guilty is punished without fear or favour. This ought to be the guiding principle.
It is also the cardinal principle that guilt does not diminish with time as many votaries of pardon seem to prescribe.
A third principle that we must consider is that punishment must be meted out swiftly and not delayed.
Let Truth and Justice prevail otherwise the rule of law would itself be a mockery

Singh's conviction
by C V R Bharati on Oct 17, 2006 04:14 PM  Permalink

At last the justice seems to be happening in this case. Singh should be given the harshest punishment. Not only of the crime i.e. rape and murder, but he is also guilty of subverting the judicial process and trying to get away from the law by whatever means, fair or foul.

by Rajiv Munshi on Oct 17, 2006 04:01 PM  Permalink

At last the accused has been nailed. this is a great achievement for the judicary of india. off late people thought that they can get away with whatever crime they commit only because of the political or beauricratic clout they enjoy.

Let this be taken as the begining with many more justices to follow :

the murdereds of jesica lal and nitish katara watch out-----------guys u had it

keep it up

best regards

Matoo case
by Sashwati on Oct 17, 2006 03:52 PM  Permalink

Justice is blind...faith is blind too. As the Matoo case comes to a close, I can't help but feel a certain sense of smug contentment at its outcome. It was almost given that Santosh Singh, wold once again dodge the judiciary system and coninue living an unscathed life. However this twist in the tale would hopefully secure the knot tightly around Singh's throat.
Yes, ten years is quite a while, more s for the near ones of the victim who probably have died a thousand deaths in the interim. The case was almost forgotten, just like so many other lives that come and go everyday. However I wonder How Singh continues to live so shamelessly. Ditto with the murderers in the Bharati Yadav case, Manu Sharma and so many others that never make it to the headlines.
The Indian Judiciary system has redeemed itself albeit at the cost of a lot of time....all I can say is this could only be divine judgement!
May Priyadarshini's soul rest in peace...

Mattoo's Murder case
by Rajneesh on Oct 17, 2006 03:50 PM  Permalink

NOw the question is:
1) Will judiciary do some thing on the Judge to see why the Trial court's verdict was like that ?
2) Will there be any check for such incidents in future or all of us will have to go to public in all of these kind of handling of cases in the lower court?

????????

Conviction to Santosh Singh - Matto Case
by Vinod Kumar Chauhan on Oct 17, 2006 03:47 PM  Permalink

The judgement of the High Court in Matto Muder case is a Great relief to the society. It gives the sense that everything has not gone wild, some system still exists to check the social menace and punish the offenders who otherwise roam freely due to political or bureaucratic patronage. It would be able to restore the confidence of the people in the judiciary otherwise judgements given by the Sessions courts in this case and Jessica Lal are hopeless. Now we can hope that culprits in the Jessica and Nitis Katara case will also see the same order of the court. Thank you High Court. Thank you for right interpretation of the evidence.

Priyadarshini Matoo case
by Pronamika on Oct 17, 2006 03:46 PM  Permalink

The judgement of the DHC is 100% correct and he should be sentenced to death. A man who has so much evil in his mind cannot become a good human being even if he's made to work for the society in the jail all his life.Evil should be wiped off.
