Dengue
by Sudharshan on Oct 10, 2006 09:13 PM  Permalink

Hi My brother was affected by Dengue in may, my family doctor was very quick to catch on the symptoms and he got his blood checked. The symptoms are severe headache and fever with vomiting sensation. If this happens we need to check our blood consistently and keep a check on RBC & WBC. Also need to avoid hard food when u have dengue as our gums will be weak. take all medicines that Doctors prescribes.

dengue
by naresh on Oct 10, 2006 09:09 PM  Permalink

Recently I was on a 2 week trip to India, on second half of September. I was in Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi and noticed exceesive mosquitoes and foul smell, especially in Noida. I complained a lot but everybody thought it was just normal there. By the time I left back for USA, I started to get sick. After coming back, I hear so much about dengue in Delhi. The whole attitude of government is so casual and there are hunderds of people who are sick, can't afford to go to doctor, apply home remedies and are not part of statistics. I feel people affected by dengue in Delhi and surroundings are far more than reported....

Chikungunya & Dengue
by Krishna Kanth on Oct 10, 2006 08:57 PM  Permalink

My family members stay in Hyderabad, AP and most of them (5 out of 7) are suffering from chikungunya. They have been infected with this virus 3 months back and still suffering from the effects of the virus. Currently as there is no cure for this, they are depending on Ibuprofen, Paracetamol for relief from the joint and muscle pains, that are caused because of the virus.
Since the virus has spread to the "political capital" (Delhi) and "health model state" (Kerala), have the authorities taken interest in "showing" their concern to this virus.
I am sure that this is all because of the negligence of the health authorities, state authorities and the central authorities in controlling the virus. To make sure that these kind of health hazards dont happen across the country, the health officials at all levels in the affected states should be expelled from their posts. This will make sure that these kind of "negligence" does not happen in the future and that the current/next generation is saved from the mistakes committed by few government officials

chickung guniya
by alex on Oct 10, 2006 08:26 PM  Permalink

this is not a serious disease. so that the profilaxis of this medicine is not yet founded. profilaxis is not needed. but now the government health authorities are in a dilemma because more people are infected with this Arbo virus. and many people are falsely being reported as dead by the medias. but the real cause of death is not because of chickung guniya and but the government authorities has to convince the people that they are doing something effective to prevent the spread of this epidemic. so that with the help of some homeopathic physicians they are giving preventive medicines which has not got any scientific backgrounds or any proof that this medicine will raise the antibodies against this virus. but even then they are distrubuting this medicine widely across the country. in order to make feel the nation that they have been doing and working for their well being.

Chikungunya
by Yamini on Oct 10, 2006 07:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is interesting that the article about Chikungunya came out so late. It has been rampant in Andhra Pradesh for a while now.

People in the areas surrounding Vishakhapatnam have been suffering from Chikungunya for more than 3 months now.

Homeopathy works well to prevent the onset of Chikunguny according to the experience of my family.

Death in our home
by Sathya on Oct 10, 2006 06:58 PM  Permalink

One of our tenants died about 2 months back due to ChikunGunya.

Tamilnadu government has been idlest and the most irresponsible government. Even local councillors took better initiatives than the government officials.

Now everybody in our family is infected with the virus and are sufferring.
