Afzal execution may be feferred.
by Ramdas Divgi on Oct 04, 2006 10:12 AM  Permalink

Afzal is a convict and a dangerous one. His death sentence, in no case, be commuted. Because we in India and our government have always been telling the world that terrorism and terrorists must be dealt with very firmly and without mercy.

Now when our Supreme Court after so many hearings has given a very correct judgement why any one should interfere.

If Afzal's death sentence is commuted it will only send wrong signals to the world that we only talk big and are not able to act. Further it will also demonstrate that we ourselves are not serious about fighting terrorism.

Fourthly, if the death sentence is commuted and made into a life sentence, I am sure that somebody high in politics or in government will so arrange that Afzal can run away from the jail to Pakistan.

Is this what our President would want to do?

Afzl will not be hanged because he is a secular Islamic Terrorist
by Chanakya Kautinya on Oct 04, 2006 09:43 AM  Permalink

Ours is a secular nation which means majority will have to suffer at the hands of the minorities, read muslims. afzal killed many hindus who were defending our parliament. he is secular to the core meaning he is an anti-hindu. He cannot be hanged because the hymen of secularism will get ruptured when an islamic terrorist is punished for his crime.

Afzal execution may be deferred
by Yagnesh on Oct 04, 2006 09:10 AM  Permalink

Shame on Indian law. Such idiotic, foolish things can only happen in this country. At the first place, why should there be any mercy on a brutal cannibal? What was his family doing all the time when he was planning for the attack which resulted in loss of lives of our fellow Indians. Please do not do this in the name of securalism and patience. Let him be hanged even before Oct 20.

If he is given pardon by the president, it shows India's inability to stand up against terrorism. Look at USA; did they do the same for 9/11 attacks? Look at Israel? They bombed an entire country just for kidnapping 3 of their soldiers, that shows how much their country loves its citizen.

SHOULD AFZAL EXECUTION BE DEFERRED?
by V.S.R.NAIR on Oct 04, 2006 05:43 AM  Permalink

No, Afzal's execution should not be deferred. He should be sujected to execution for having indulged in terrorisam on Indian Parliament. He is anti-Indian and should not be alive in Indian soil any more.

Not only Afzal, any one who is living in India and indulging in terrorism against India should be executed without any mercy. If need be, India should bring out a legislation on these lines.

Hope, President, Abdul Kalam Azad will value India and Her life and not to Afzal, the anti-Indian terrorist.

I feel Afzal should be pardoned and decorated with the citizens' AVSM (atyant vishisht sewa medal) for doing great service to the nation by trying to wipe out the corrupt politicians of this country. every indian worth his salt should come forward and applaud his efforts. he must be pardoned and should be released with honor. we need an army of such afzals to clean the mess this country has been since independence. thanks afzal. long live extremism against politicians!!!

This is a sorry state of affairs!
by praguhbis on Oct 03, 2006 11:52 PM  Permalink

he should be done with immediately, do you think sparing him will endear Indians to Kashmiris. They will only think that we're weak. What a rhapsody. One trembles to be a Hindu these days. Why should Chatterjee be given the death penalty for raping a girl. AFter all everyday a girl gets raped and murdered in India. But a man who is directly responsible for killin 7 people should go scot free? I was in Parliament when the attack took place! The gun battle raged for around 45 min. What if they were enter the premises, they would have killed me too. I wish I had the guts to Kill Afzal and his crocodile tears family myself. Maybe who knows...
