Afzal is a convict and a dangerous one. His death sentence, in no case, be commuted. Because we in India and our government have always been telling the world that terrorism and terrorists must be dealt with very firmly and without mercy.
Now when our Supreme Court after so many hearings has given a very correct judgement why any one should interfere.
If Afzal's death sentence is commuted it will only send wrong signals to the world that we only talk big and are not able to act. Further it will also demonstrate that we ourselves are not serious about fighting terrorism.
Fourthly, if the death sentence is commuted and made into a life sentence, I am sure that somebody high in politics or in government will so arrange that Afzal can run away from the jail to Pakistan.
