Everybody agree that it is the social responsibility of one and all especially the govt to render a helping hand to the downtrodden for their upliftment. But for that reservation is not the solution.Instead of doing that the govt should take initiative to start special institutions starting from primary level with all facility and infrastructure and provide specialised education to the SC/ST/OBC/MBC and other downtrodden students and make them to qualify them without incurring any expenditure and make them to compete with the others in higher education so that the nations interest will be safe guarded and the upliftment of the downtrodden will take place without compromising the merit and without suppressing the others.Admissions for this shall be given on the basis of the caste/economic/edccational criteria and everything shall be provided here free of cost. This is the positive way the govt(political parties) has to approach this social cause if they think it genuinely.
The advancement of Tamilnadu will be gone and as they continue to spawn hatred against bhramins. One day people of the state will pay price for encouraging reservation at the cost of merit. As already we are seeing inefficient people and people with lesser moral values are getting into government jobs.

moral values------in India? Ramki u have made my day---------- biggest joke.......ha ha ha.
The Concept of 69 % reservations In T.N is a farce which has been perpetuated by parties for decades. It is only the creamy layer which gets through this quota and those economically powerful manage to put heir wards through best schools and hence it leads to a vicious cycle of the same bunch of people cornering all the seats.
Has there been a single study done to find out the efficacy of the system or to find out what is impact of the economic status of the candidate who has benefitted from reservation. Sadly, None.
The caste problem in T.N is very simple, except the brahmins all castes in T.N belong to either BC,MBC or OBC, so what is the problem even if you have 100 % reservations, nobody is going to raise a stink.Definitely, not the brahmins.

its true brahmins will not rake upthe issue coz most of them are already abroad, doing well with their careers. thanx to reservation in TN.Secondly they are few in numbers and not as fierce as North brahmins.I pity those poor brahmin families in TN as they dont have anybody to look for.If nothing is done for them, they might turn reckless and its not a good sign.I am sure all this casteist parties knew one reckless brahmin now ( jayalalitha).Let them not create many.
It is a well known fact within the people of Tamil Nadu, that most of the forward caste people, especially younger generation who were born and brought up in Tamil Nadu migrate to other states of India or abroad in pursuit of higher studies or job where their intelligence is most valued. If the high percentage of reservation policy has worked out well as per the politicians, then Tamil Nadu should have reached 100% literacy by now. This clearly shows the failure of the reservation scheme.
All said and done what is forgotten is that for the last six or seven years the actual percentage of reservations is only 50 % and not 69 % as stated. This is because the State government has had to increase the number of seats to offset the excess of 19%

Why quota is not considered in agriculture and land owning.
As the so called FC are not having any land and agriculture and are supposed to be the suppressed class in this arena and most of the land holdings are in the hands of so called BC(who are dynasty of the kings of olden period).
Acquire this lands from them and distribute to the FC as they are suppressed in this arena for generations. Why no initiatives.(no vote bank?).

Yes, TN should introduce OBC quota in films - esp. the heroines - no more fair skinned Punjabi clevege !!!
Tamil Nadu politicians vertually split the country by introducing the castism by means of reservation quota. It has not really helped the deserving public but only has uplifted the nasty political catorie/ cacus. On these foot step other narrow minded and visionless political creams have towed the way and have determined to split the country further by this weapon of casteism. It is high time to realize that by creating an OPPRESSED class policy we have already generated and nurished a SUPPRESSED class. The SUPPRESSED clas of past years are OPPRESSED class of of today. The SUPPRESSED class of today will be OPPRESSED class in near future.Only the time will tell.Perhaps our great stateman should be looking at some forgeiners advise support in this context to raise to the occassion and start the movement. Kudos you political urchins.
The TN quota system has served the purpose for which it was intended - of ensuring the continued vote banks for the 'dravida' parties (DMK and AIADMK) against national parties like the Congress and BJP, and serving as an anti-brahmin forum. Definitely, it has not served any genuine intent of the constitution. Instead, it has resulted in the exodus of upper castes, specifically brahmins (as almost all others are covered by the 'quota') to other states and for educational institutions in other states and other countries. The medical and law schools of TN are filled with hooligans and rowdy elements, many - relatives and friends of the 'dravida' politicians, who join these institues in the name of some quota or the other. Madras University, which was once upon a time, known for its calibre of education, is way down in the ranks now, thanks to the state's politicians.

The reservation system in TN has failed totally in helping the people it is supposed to be helping. But, it has only helped the politicians in garnering votes. The failure can be seen in many ways. Firstly, as pointed out, the upper caste (Brahmins) have migrated in large numbers to states like Karnataka and, the people who are eligible for reservation (SC / ST and other poor people) have also migrated to other states because the OBCs / BCS who do not need the reservation and who actually are the ones to commit atrocities on the people of SCs and STs have forcibly taken away all the benefits from them. Thirdly, the backwardness of the people of TN can be seen in the elections where they can not look beyond DMK and AIADMK alternately. So, any suggestion that reservation has met its objectives in TN will be far fetched and vary very far from the truth
While analysing the Reservation system in TN, following points are also to be noted :
a) Upper Castes are a miniscule number in TN & hence are silent sufferers of the Reservation system.
b) No one in TN speaks against the system not because they "accept" the policy but out of sheer fear.
c) TN has seen worse. In year 1990, there was a rule which provided additional "5" marks for SC/ST/BC/OBC students whose parents were not graduates. God knows how many promising careers were crushed because of this rule
d) Another indicator is the large number of CA/ICWA/CS students come out of TN. Since the so called upper castes can't get into Engineering or Medical streams they settle for the commerce group & thus get into CA/CWA/CS which don't have any reservation system.
e)The bedrock of the Dravidan politics has always been hatred towards a particular community & hence it is no wonder that such a system thrives.
f) Despite all this, no one would dare asking P Chidambaram why his son married an Iyengar girl when he could have selected anyone from the so called SC/ST/BC/OBC/MBC communities.

You are perfectly reasonable.
To add, It is not just P.Chidambaram , who got his son married to an Iyengar (popular Bharatanatyam artist)girl but, so shocking is that even Karunanidhi got his nephew Dayanidi Maran married to a Bhramin girl. When it comes to matrimony , they dont mind aaor rather prefer a Bhramin girl. When it comes to family doctor or advocate or advisors, they dont mind he/she belonging to so called upper castes. Atrocious!!

Haaaann! So what do you mean? The name of IIT is on high just becasue there are 282 Brahmin professors? INTERESTING!
Well, what if the statistics are otherway round? Will you stick to your statements? I hardly doubt it. Then you will say the number of OBC professors are high becasue they are getting reserved seats.
GROW UP GUYS!!! Dont be blind. Please have some logical comments.
Small Info what i recd via SMS Chennai IIT Total professors : 400 Brahmins : 282 (70%) Other FC's : 40 (10%) Backward : 57 (14%) SC/ST : 3 (0.75%) Christians : 15 (3%) Muslims : Nil
If this is reality then even the % of reservation for the oppressed classes should be increased.

Hey IITs are really meant for the people who really have/use brain. If u find/feel the % that u got thru sms is true then it clearly shows that how much ever the % of reservations are increased, the talented and ingenius people only will survive.
Clearly i can find that u r a dumb and brain less guy to support such stupid act of bringing all such non-sense.
These sort of reservations would ultimately screw the so called India's economy.
I dont know why well educated people like Manmohan Singh, who is famous for his economics called Manmohanomics, is initiating all possibilities to screw the Indian Economy.
As Nalanda University, renowned across the globe in ancient times, got screwed by the Kings who ruled India on those days, now world famous IITs and IIMs are going to be ruined by the present rulers the so called Politicians.

it seems that you need every available support from the government from spoon to the spoon feeding and if possible to digest the food in your stomach and even to clean your stomach. one college or institution does not give you the complete stats its better you concentrate on all stats of centeral and state government. dont mislead ppl and the first thing reservering yourserlf does not make you efficient. as you would feel that you are capable becoz something is reserved to you. check the stats for how effecient the reserved guys who get every thing in higher education fare. dont say they are not given equal opportunity. they are given every opportunity from by the govenrment and some times the best than the non reserved categories but still they dont fare well even after getting into the instution at the cost of a brighter student whose dreams are killed by these reservatuions. better look into all aspects and post soemthing constructive.
