member of the anti quota protest
by Aman GArg on May 26, 2006 06:54 PM  Permalink

To me this is the killing of the rising power ,now they are playing divide and rule policy just for the sake of the votes, now no longer our country is secular earlier their was a little conflict between muslim and hindus and this issue will widen the grudges with other castes.SC,ST,OBC should think about this matter ,2 out of 10 proves to be worth rest are ,we all know.solution to this can be -the standard of the primary education government is providing to the children should be raised so that can compete with others .
-financial help must be provided to the needy for the nurture of their wards.
-college fees should be reduced

this will dilute the quality of doctor, engineer ,on which whole of the country relies. jai hind ,we are with u ,call me ,i am ready to shed blood for this fight .this is not the right method.

Why reservation on caste basis?
by Pankaj Mishra on May 26, 2006 03:27 PM  Permalink

I believe there should be no reservation in academics graduation-level onwards. Everyone should be competing on level grounds, without having undue advantages like reservation. It is totally unfair. I am of the opinion that backward classes/ people should be given monetary benefits like free primary education, free ration etc so as be make them capable to competing academically graduation-level onwards. After that it should be equal grounds for everyone. By giving reservations at professional levels we are defeating the whole purpose of professional education. We will be making doctors and engineers out of non-deserving canditates who will be ruining our future. While deserving candidates will not be having enough opportunities. I believe everyone should be given equal opportunities. It is not the fault of children belonging to upper-castes. They should be provided with equal opportunities in life. I would like the government to spend money not on increasing the seats in institutions to accomodate more OBCs/SCs/STs but on free primary education for them. Spend money to make their future bright instead of ruining the whole country by increasing the reservations.

Dividing the nation
by kishor Jagirdar on May 26, 2006 12:45 PM  Permalink

Dear fellow Indian,

Please check the attachment and forward it to all whom
you know .We must not stand as a silent spectator and
let our nation be divided on the base of castism. We
must take a stand as for our action/inaction today our
children will have to pay the price.

This nation must be driven by merit/quality and not
become a second rated country which encourages
inefficiency.

INDIA has set itself to become the superpower of the
21st Century. To make this a reality we have to be
responsible today.

The next partition
by K. K. Sinha on May 26, 2006 12:43 PM  Permalink

It is a very timely article by Mr. Kak exorting the slumbering middle class in the country. The country started with the reservation policy initially for ten years only. Now after several extensions, it is found that it has not helped the society- its scope needs to be expanded. Is there a guarantee that it will help. It will surely help persons like S.Sri Arjun Singh (a very big land lord, Ramvilas Paswan (a leader having two wives-one from upper caste), Jagjivan rams family etc; but what about the remaining poor, lower and middle caste wallas?

manmohan singh please stop chamchegiri
by renuka babtiwale on May 26, 2006 12:00 PM  Permalink

reservation policy adopted by the government is utter shit.earlier the nation was divided on basis of religion and now how can you people devide the nation on the basis of caste?how much more loss we are going to make to the nation just by accepting these rubbish policies of congress?manmohan singh just wants to maintain his position of prime minister and thats why he keeps on dancing on sonia's tunes.think about the general public, let equality prevail, give fair chances to all.and if every time these people are provided with the reservations how will they improve?spoon feeding will not help them.let them come up on their own.and for obc's i wantto say please dont degrade urself to such extent by begging reservations.if you are competant ennough then you will surely come up.no one is stopping you.if you have guts then show it openly.
and if congress is dividing the nation AGAIN then they have no right to be called as SECULAR.sonia madam use all these tactics in your own nation spare us please.
