To me, Indian Babus are the best among all the administrative services in terms of thier efficiancy and go getting-ness. Still in this country Govt execution works in minimum cost for maximum output (some time it is also a cause of corruptions). No any agency in the world (as far as my knowledge) has bee able to conduct such a massive democratic election programmes, with ut most transperent and effective way.
Mark Twain has said, every power tends to corrupt and absolute power curropts absolutely. I will say every a lay Indian is a quick learner and good follower (as far as short term interest is involved), good critic of self, a very good teacher but very bad follower of his own preaching.

Yes Truth is always bitter...I do agree with all the points mentioned... I would also like to add one major things which is Long Period of time to give Justice...People who are poor are behind the bars for ages and are granted bails and Hard core Criminals have been freed and have become Politicians... minting money and doing nothing but inaugrating a showroom or doing Shilanyas..Scholars have to sacrifice their careers because of Reservations...Is India Shining?
I can't even imagine someone felt racially discriminated in India. We consider our guests as God as the saying goes. And elsewhere in the world Indians are mostly looked down for reasons unknown. Even when they know that they are dealing with the smartest crowd of the world! I am sure its known to the world the discriminations people went through during the independence struggle in India and also now elsewhere in the world! Do not underestimate an Indian. They are smarter and fast beyond imaginations. Thats the way we have grown up in our nation and we care for each other. And one basic rule. Every Indian pays back in multiples what you give him or her. Enjoy India. You will cherish the days you are in India all along your life!

I dont think anybody should write something which is holding no meaning. 1)The person is writing that we are discriminating white and yellow colour with others.Can you please tell me why than we all are paying more money than the Local people in foreign countries for visiting any place .Even i can give you a example like Maldives.As a foreigner we pay a huge money for every bit of movement. So whats the wrong in it if India is asking slightly more money than the people of India. 2)We are the only country in world who respect the foriegners.Can you please tell me what is happening to indians in Gulf,europe,USA.We give Visa to all the foreign people without thinking what will be the consequences.But when we are asking for a entry in Europe or Asia they are rejecting Visas without seeing the nature of application. 3)I am not telling all this by reading .I am moving for last 6 years to 8 countries.And i saw the bad situation of Indian peoples although they are in good position.We are just like a slave in Overseas. Well, it's true tourists are asked to pay more than locals. I would say that is still better than treatment metted out to indians abroad. One instance is immigration officials in other countries. I would like to throw a few bucks at the immigration officials if they behaved themselves. Claude, discrimination is everywhere, in all countries. However, unlike in other countries citizens here still respect visitors (you can point out anomalies though. It's a fact there are some hooligans here, too). I agree with you on the other 9 points.
Well many countries who bank on tourism for outsiders do impose higher fees for watching monuments or muesems or parks. I too was a target of being an Indian abroad where I had to cough out money thrice the normal price to just see a butterfly park. It was told to me that the government of that particular country doesn't want to burden the locals by imposing higher fees for upkeep of the park. So the foreigners have to pay for the upkeep. I don't knw hwy the writer is so biased when it comes to India.
I have gone through all ten comments and it's very true, but can't totally agree with the amount of fees the whiteman has to pay to view the Taj Mahal....what about a foreign student studying in a whiteman's country, is he not paying more than the home student. so I cannot really agree with that comment.
