Rains of 31 May 06 !
by Anjum Syed on Jun 01, 2006 05:31 PM  Permalink

Mr CM,

Yesterday the pictures of 26/7/05 were unwinding infront of my eyes.

Local trains on central line were stopped because of some electricity lines problems and the life for the daily commuter came to a standstill,if the trains stop can we not have a buses taking people to their homes-----a taxi gharged me Rs 30/- to cross the JJ flyover,no information was provided so as to when the trains would start ? This can't be expected to be happening in Mumbai----- we the working middle class are the life of this city and we were left stranded on roads.I guess we deserve better.
You are requested to make changes for better in the system as if we are supposed to follow this system during the prevelant monsoons--- then God only knows when & were we will be lefyt stranded or die .

Another 26/7 in the making
by Prasad on Jun 01, 2006 05:30 PM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

On Wednesday, after it started raining in the evening at around 6:20 PM I had a terrible time getting back home. Central Railway with its hopeless managment especially V.K. Kaul - General Manager and
Mr. R. S. Virdi - Divisional Manager Railways CST have left commuters tempers riding high because all
slow trains on the Central and harbour Line came to a Grinding halt because of some Technical fault at Kurla station which was not rectified for more than 3 hrs. Moreso, these two gentleman have no regard whatsoever to the grievances of Commuters inspite of writing to them. Parel was flooded with Knee deep water and it was a harrowing experience to reach home. I wonder what the BMS has done and what your so called Disaster Management is all about.

26/7 - replay

The entire working class of this country should collectively decide not to pay a single paisa in income tax.For 30% of our incomes as tax every year - we dont even get 1% worth of services. Is asking for regular power supply, proper roads, drainage & water supply too much for these free-loaders(read "public servants") to give?

Our entire contribution by way of taxes is blown away on stupid activities such as subsidizing a 100 trivial things as also "public servants" trying to fill their pockets.

What are they talking about India being the Asian Tiger, sleeping giant ..blah blah. In terms of citizen's rights & the quality of life, we are worse than even Somalia.

Imagine our cities in 2020.They'll be worse than sewer lines

We badly need an internal revolution on lines of France /china / Russia.

same condition as usual in the monsoon with no change
by renuka shenoy on Jun 01, 2006 05:14 PM  Permalink

dear CM,
it was the same condition yesterday i.e.31/5/06 with the C.rly as there were no trains for an hour and people had to walk down upto Kurla Stn. and from Kurla stn we had to wade thro\' knee deep waters with that stinking smell of the waters. Water had been accumulated at Kurla, Ghatkopar. It\'s the same situation every year & this year too. What efforts has the govt. taken can be seen with this 1st rain itself and there's still more to go.

MC BC and all other choicest words stand in glory for this wonderful organization that has a pathetic existance under the supervision of it's so called leaders.

These leaders can't lead from the front neither have they got the gut in them to follow examples and hence set an example.
they are worthless spineless characters that can never keep up their word and give a better life or get a life for themselves

Sorry, Mumba Devi might be ashamed of her abode!

Flooding
by Jacob E. Abraham on Jun 01, 2006 05:06 PM  Permalink

Rubbish. All the 'tall talks' by the so called authorities are as rubbish as the rubbish on Mumbai streets!

The first rain itself gave shivers to the residents who have barely recovered from the shocks of 26/7.

Indranarayan street - off Linking Road at Santacruz West, was flooded knee deep, water trapped - like in a saucer, between Linking Road & Tagore Road. This street is supposed to have got a new drainage canal this year... but alas!

"India Shining"? Make it happen on a rainy day too. Take this as a challenge, or else, move out!

If you 'yet' cannot build roads, move out. Out-source this work to the ones who know their job.

What's in store ahead? We wish we could skip the monsoons this year and allow the administration to learn to finish their tasks during the extended year. My rating: 0/10.

rain havoc prevention better than cure
by sunbeamme on Jun 01, 2006 05:04 PM  Permalink

You should see how garbage and rotting leaves and palm fronds are left around nana nani park at seven bunglows, without a garbage picker or sweeper in sight, the municipal trucks merely pick what is in the garbage can and are blind to trash around

also lokhandwala gutters are clogged with thermocol cups, take a look at the broken gutter footpath at macdonalds there. i think they WANT to create a disaster. human life is cheap
