why not in all the stations
by ananya on Jul 14, 2006 12:37 PM  Permalink

Only in the main stations? are the terrorists fools? now that they know which stations have cctvs installed they wll target other stations, there r plenty 2 choose frm. Also instead of concentrating only on the railways now, govt should improve overall security of the city itself, including bus transport system and all major locations of the city, especially the IT companies, IT being a potential target for such attacks.

CCTVs in 7 Mumbai stations
by Bipin Rokade on Jul 14, 2006 12:08 AM  Permalink

This is very crucial decision but only 7 CCTVs are not sufficient to cover the whole Mumbai. The CCTVs should be installed at every station and every compartment of railway. Thus every compartment will be continuous under observation. The tickets should be have magnetic strips for which people can enter in station or exit from station only through automatic barriers but for that automatic barriers should be made. The all railway routes should have the compounds by which no one can enter in the station except through the entry of station. There should be the extra security force always looking of the unattended bags on the station as well as on the train. And there should be the parallel responsibility of each person to keep eye on the unattended bags on the train.
For this system large amount of investment is necessary but this will be unvaluable infront of peoples lives. This system is following in everywhere UKs railway stations and I feel its quite efficient. Really this is not a order....this is a urge from hurted heart.

CCCTV's?
by Sriram on Jul 13, 2006 09:57 PM  Permalink

This is not the first time the blasts are happening. Why did not happen when it happened the first Bombay blasts. How often this will be monitored? It is getting blasted when the news gets cold.
I am suprised still we are just finding who is behind this. It takes atleast 1/2 a decade to confirm. Once it is confirmed, I don't see any concrete decision that is happening on the operating country. It is just a hype or hypocrasy
