You are recommending a policy of direct engagement whereas what i believe is that we have totally failed to comprehend what has been happening in our country for the last 50 years. If you take all that into account we dont have to look far, its been a failure in many a front right from the people we have put in power, we have pockets of development, gross abuse of power, denial of basic rights to the citizens. Lets stem the factors that encourage discontent within our land. Without this in place there is no point in pursuing the policy you recommend. Think Long Term, there are many a ghosts we have to get rid of in this journey. It is time to walk the right path of a better future then invest in a path is fraught with pain.
We need to take a really hard and ruthless action and none of the routine knee-jerk reflexive speeches-that too made by Babus-will serve the purpose of avenging the Bloody Tuesdays Bombings. We need to hit hard and when I mean hard it means in such a way that none of the cowardly groups and their more cowardly masters and the Sweet talking Puppeteers will dare to look at us with a malicious glance. The so called PM and the SHADOW Super PM all are ensconed in safe cocoons and can make all the usual noises,BUT are ever their children/relatives/or close friends ever the VICTIMS of a close encounter of this kind. agreed that a particular family had more than their share of Anguish/Tragedy/Loss. We need an ENTEEBE / TEHERAN / ISRAEL attack of Nuclear Sites etc now .The irony that we have all the Inputs/Evidences/locations for us to mount a similar operation but the cowards sitting in their AC rooms do not have the Courage to give theGo-Ahead. Further more we are playing into US's hands are in all probability being sucked into their scheme of things might be forced to toe their line. We need a totally Suicidal Operation by a group of Volunteers to wipe out a camp or two in POK
An excellent article.Hopefully Indian Government and its politicians implement what is mentioned therein. Lets take Israel as a fine example. Its much smaller than the state of Maharashtra, but the whole Arab world is scared of it because Israel believes in doing anything to safeguard its citigens. Its got the will to protect its interests. If only India was less tolerant,I guess terrorism would not have taken deep roots in our country.
This is what each and every Indian will be thinking. You have used the correct word "Impotent State" The politicians on one side say that they don't have money to upgrade the Police force and on the other side they are buying Honda cars for the ministers and a new airplane for the CM. How do the citizens expect that this Government will take any action to enhance the security of the country?
I share, see and understand the helplessness of a common man, you have perfectly brought it into words.
Now, let us reminiscence both the issues you have raised:
1.Ruthlessness: Does our polity has it? Except for clinging to their seats or planning their next coups or elections, there people have nothing towards the common man who is voting them to power. why do this common man vote for them, again and again, because he is illetrate both socially and technically. when you have one the best secret service organisation in the world being utilised for gathering intellegence about your rivals in the assembly, what will they do? when you have intelligence leaks in the navy, what will they do? when the police system is being utilised for party-specific funds, what will they do? when half of your police force is used for these shenaninagans' travels, what will be policed? 2. Softbelly: When the common man stops reacting for overtures like caaling UN for plebiscite when you are across a rogue army's city bridge, just to lay waste the soldiers who have laid down their lives till then to reach that bridge; (to be continued)
