Shame on us
by Krishnaj Gourab on Jul 12, 2006 03:04 AM  Permalink

Dear Mumbaikars,

In this time of need, I stand by you. I was a resident doctor at Sion Hospital when the first blasts in Ghatkopar happened. It is infuriating to see the same being repeated almost every year.

At this time of crisis and profound sadness, let us reflect that why this continues to happen in Mumbai, why are trains going to particular areas targeted, why do the names of the suspects sound similar year afer year and why do we continue to appease and tolerate people who live amongst us but don't hesitate to harm us at the first opportunity ?

Unfortunately, Indians will be sad for a day or two ( at least a mojority of them would be),Mumbai will limp back to normal and everything will be the same again. This is not "tolerance" of a great civilization but the "escapism" of a coward nation.

Shame on us.

I cant understand where our country is heading? our govertment once again shown their efficiiency, I dont know how much more we have to see? will there be an end? I know its fundamantalists who will be blamed, but I think the real problem is somewhere eles and it needs some deep thinking to sort out this problem.

Our govt keep talking about some of the stupid issues like reservation, taxation of FIIs earning. why dont our govt thinks of our safety.

I hope that this is the end, mumbai peoples have suffered a lot.

mumbai bomb blasts
by jay on Jul 12, 2006 02:30 AM  Permalink

Its a matter of great sorrow and shame for the whole nation but I am not sure whether General category people die in it or SC/ST or OBCs. There was a lot of hue and cry about inferiority of SC/ST or OBCs and superiority of General Category people; over Dr. Venugopal's termination last week. Indians need to realize that if they are not going to learn how to live in harmony, I think they will be attacked & killed like this as we can see it from our "Great Indian History".
God Save India!

This is not the first time in India that such kind of blast occur, once in every week there is always blast and many people killed. But our poorest govt cant do anything...It would h ave been better that some big political leader will also dies in such terrorist attacks then only they will keep there eyes open.....Otherwise always innocent people will have to lost there lives.
I am feeling ashamed that i am indian......I love my country so didnt feel good when such kind of things happen......

I am shocked
by Sunny on Jul 12, 2006 01:48 AM  Permalink

I am wondering what the Govt. has been doing? Why there are no strict vigilance on the security of the country and safety of the people? Are common people not part of the country? What Govt is about without the common people. Govt. spends much of its time discussing to divide the country based on caste lines and rising the prices of the basic necessities. Ministers spend much of time and money in meddling with autonomous institutes by the ministers. Ministers are happy traveling other countries with the money from the tax collected from common people. Political leaders, think what you have done to the country. Sometimes, I wonder why not terrorists target the mindless politicians than the common people. Why there is no law to punish terrorists by death sentence?

A word to terrorists: You will never be remembered as heroes, but ugly faces on this beautiful earth.

God, help the affected people with courage to bear the pain.

People, start thinking of society as a whole and not just about oneself and one's caste or one's religion.Hell with the politicians and comeout to create a "Ram Rajya"

Shame on us Indians
by Linesh on Jul 12, 2006 01:42 AM  Permalink

This is a matter of shame and grief for the indian people. Shame because we are capable of doing nothing but lying back and accepting all the cruelties against our people. Those people who died included hindus, muslims, christians and, foremost of all, they were people abandoned and orphaned by very own indian government which we elected. shame on us. An enquiry commision will be set up, it will run for 2 years, and by the time everybody would have forgotten about it. Later one report will be tabled and some "Great leaders" who cannot care less , will debate on this issue and the issue will be forgotten. Shame on us Indians...poor Indians..This system will never change..this will happen again and again and we will never learn.
