Politicians involving with professionals is dangerous. It appears there is no value for awards given like Padmasree, Padmabhushan to Dr Venugopal. Any fool like health minister can meddle with any thing and bring discredit to the nation and also the institution.
How does he knows value of knowledge that Mr. venugopal has .. The health minister got his degree due to his father, got elected and cabinet post due to his father and his dirty tricks. How does the health minister know how to treat people like Mr. venugopal who contribution in heart surgery and stem cells are enourmous.
The goverment deserve to be out after such mishandlings ..
mr. ramadoss has changed the name of A.I.I>M>S. into All India Institute of Political Sciences by sacking eminent doctor like DR. VENUGOPAL.In our country a politician can do whatever he wants. Aferall our P.M., Dr. Manmohan Singh is behaving like a rubber stamp and has no control over his colleagues. Earlier it was Natwar Singh. Then Arjun Singh. Now the ball has gone to South with Dr. Ramadoss who want DR. Venugopal to be ousted. Infact Ramadoss should have been sacked by Dr. Singh for unnecessarily interfering in the affairs of AIIMS. Lastly I can say the UPA Government has failed in all respects either in controlling prices or maintaining law & order. It is UN Popular Alliance
Compare Dr Venugopals plight to that of an erstwhile Secretary DARE /DG-ICAR six years ago, when the Union Cabinets Appointments Committee decided to him on "compulsory wait", after an internal audit committee and the CBI which both found prima facie evidence of financial irregularities and administrative improprieties on his part. The Secy, with the help of Indian and foreign political connections, and his minions in ICAR, roused up a storm of protest, and forced the government to give him a clean chit and reinstate him. In the end, it was the minister who had to resign. One of the "arguments" used by the protestors was that the entire machinery of agricultural production, research and education would come crashing down if the Secretary were to be removed. However, soon after his reinstatement, the secretary resigned from government service to take up a juicy foreign assignment with the FAO. The predicted system-crash did not occur. There are no allegations against Dr Venugopal of any financial or administrative misdeed, but his fault was that he failed to lick the minister's shoes. The Hor'ble minister said, "Off with his head", the head of the King of Hearts was chopped off.
Just think, why can't we start a Medical College in the private sector with money pooled in from all of us... like Imran Khan did... with Dr. Venugopal at the helm of affairs...
I think we should organize an army of volunteers for running this hospital... and organize some fund-raising programs and self-funding annuities...
