India can boast of its varied Tribal cultures, which even make the westerners curious. Pure Indian traditions are often revealed through them. From ancient times many cultures of Europe, Middle East or others flew past the main land of India. But, these couldnt touch some pockets, where tribal would reside & their culture remained unadulterated. From this platform Tribal cant just jump to the technical advancement and so, industries like steel plants & heavy engineering will not cater to their requirement. Rather Agro-industries or tribal-crafts with application of latest technology would help them to get livelihood & also a touch of modernity. Its a pity that our market is flooded with fruit juice and packaged foods from countries like Thailand, Malaysia that are very near & similar to our states like Mizoram & all. Indias challenge lies in converting its huge tribal population to a resource. But politicians will never realize it.

very well said nirmalaji,The opposition party seems to take advantage of these tragic incidents.The policies should be made such to take care of thier rehabilitation and livelihood.Legally the govenment need not give the money to the tribes , but keeping in mind the welfare and prosperity of the tribes,they should be paid atleast some share of the money ,as they are getting a 10fold profit from tata's.
It is rather unfortunate the the Congress Govts at the Centre have been neglecting the Orissa State in general and the Backward Tribal districts in particular. The result is abject poverty in these areas, similar to Sub Saharan Countries of Africa.
Mere visits of Congress leaders from the Centre does not solve the problems and their visits are aimed for fishing in muddy water for political gains.
If the UPA Govt is serious to help Orissa, then let them demonstrate their sincerity by implementing the following on top priority: 1.Constitute Backward Districts Dev Board and implement Projects for roads,water supply, health care, small scale agro-industries viz. Dairy Farming,Poultry, high-yield and mechanised Agriculture, etc etc. It is well known that poor State does not have funds for meeting the Salaries of its Employees. 2.Set up IIT and IIM in the Western Orissa. 3. Expedite AIIMS project, which started by NDA and being overlooked by UPA. 4. Set up National Institute of Science near Bhubaneswar, it was planned earlier by NDA and UPA Govt has shifted this project to West Bengal via Vote Bank politics. Congress, pl be a part of the Solutions and not part of Problems
I can only tell, Jaydev Jena is really an idiot person. He and his party is trying to gain as much as profit from this incident, rather that solving the problem they are creating more problem for the goverment and all the development work.He is talking Mr Pattnaik does not know Oriya, How does it matter.He is the only person, after a long period doing something for Orissa.He is a Real ORIYA HERO.By speaking good Oriya language,nothing will happen. what his party did for Orissa simply "NOTHING".These type of people with this ideology are always harmful for socity and should be kicked away.Its enough...we should stop these dirty politics and Idiot people.
