i am very sad to hear that even today after india is aspiring to become a super power in the future we have temples which restrict people of other faiths...i guess we have a long way to go towards freedom in real sense.

Hindu Temples are the House of Lord Rama Krishanwho who were great lover & protectors of cows. The cast & religion who practice cow killing & cow meat eating can't be allowed in Lords house who hates the cow killersssssssssss Christian & Muslims
I do not understand even in this 21st century people have such faith that a non hindu enters a temple it become un-holy. We are all human beings first and later a hindu, muslim or christaian. A temple which can play the songs sung by yesudas in praise of lord krishna during the worship does not allow yesudas to enter into the temple. This is called stupid faith. The temple authorities will know if a person who enters into the temple is a non-hindu only if he or she is a celebrity or a person well known in the society. There must have been thousands of people who have entered Guruvayoor temples who are non-hindus. So if they have to clease the temple every time a non hindu enters the temple with special pujas then the temple has to keep doing cleansing work through out the year.
When God can accept every human coming to him, i do not know the attitude of these people who claim themselves to be religious.

Mr. Mathew Is it also stupid faith that when you descriminate against Jesus himself and make him look like blue eyed and blonde? Comeon, Garden of eden, Babylon, Nasariya, all are in present day Iraq. How did a Jesus who was born there ended up looking like a scandanavian? Who descriminated against him?

Sitting there above, God himself must be ashamed of Guruvayoor priests activities. If a person of another faith , goes to guruvayoor temple to pray, it shows his respect n beleif to the temple. Infact, those priest should b proud of it. The statement given by one priest saying tht , by praying in the temple, the lankans have commited a religious mistake!!!!!!!!1...Now praying s a mistake???!!!!!....Thts why kerala s called "God's Own Country" because God only save kerala... Shame...
The temple authorities are bound to obey the rules in place. But it is high time that it be revised.
To claim that entry of non Hindu is an insult to the diety is something which even Krishna would refuse. Such narrow minded thoughts should be done away with it, and all devoteees should be allowed access, just like "all" Hindus have the priviledge.
The temple authories may have a problem with foreigners entering the temple just to have a look at the antique idol, but that does not justify the insult which a person faces when refused in purely due to his religion. Such narrow minded actions would do harm to the loving lords image.
I donot believe in cleansing etc.We are all children of god.But I understand the principle that if non hindus enter the temple, they might go out and condemn the very same god they had visited.Since it is not correct on anyone's part to enter a temple and blame the god, allowing people with a written statement that they would never do blasphemy would be a correct thing to do.
But cleansing a temple because someone from another faith entered the temple is as grave as untouchability.Who knows who brings milk to the temple and who feeds the cows used for getting milk. religious untouchability is as grave as untouchability against the lower classes. Its time that the priests realise that times have changed and a brahmin is going abroad while a dalit might be praying to lord rama and being very pious.
There is no measure to how good or bad a person is,and caste/religion does not determine it.
I can't believe that we are living in 21st century and still arguing over such petty issues. "Non-Hindus not allowed in temples", how low a religion's preachers can stoop to? I see this boneheaded mentality of some Hindus to be a reason for bringing bad name to such an ancient and beautiful religion and may eventually lead to its downfall. We as Hindus who believe in ahimsa and embracing everyone with love should welcome everyone irrespective of caste, creed, religion or sex in all of our temples. I urge to all educated Indians to bring this change into effect. I personally as a devout Hindu would restraint from going to such a temple, which follows such dictatorial norms.

To, Dinesh, Ram, Ashwin and Crazyman,
Guys, your broadmindedness and tolerance is ALL that matters. You guys are the epitome of the greatness of Hinduism. Don't feel bad about what happened.
Oh It's mahavishnu statue at Guruvayoor, not his incarnation Krishna, who was a yadava.. Will that Yadava be welcome in the living room of a Bhoomihar Brahmin in Bihar these days?
Krishna, dharma sansthapanarthaya, you said you'll come again and again...Don't you see this ignorance?
Seems there's not enough problems to go around, so even more have to be invented - why is it an issue whether the Lankan PMs wife is Christian or not? Is not a temple a house of God, a place where people come to be 'cleansed' rather than the other way around? Isn't it time that Hindus become all-embracing and opened thier temples as places of worship and refuge to all who wish to enter and receive grace? How does being a Christian pollute a temple?
