My openion on solving Kashmir issue is to let the people of kashmir be given their freedom of choice as posted in BBC News. It is not Indians or pakistanis staying in kashmir, but it is the kashmiris who are staying in kashmir and struggling to survive with heavy loss of innocent loved ones. no matter if kashmir is currently part of india/pak, kashmiries should be given their rights.
Musharraf has himself agreed that he is the present cause of terrorist activities in Kashimer region, by stating that "if India withdrew its forces from Srinagar, Baramullah and Kupwara, he would do everything within his power to ensure that there was no terrorist activity in these towns".
Have you seen the map of Kashmir and the location of these cities, Srinagar, Baramullah and Sapore. BaraMullah is the Biggest city after Uri on National Highway 1A. Uri is very near Pakistani border hardly 5 km and is connected by big road from pakistani side, can easily be captured in an hour with big surprise thrust. If Military is removed from Baramullah the time which is taken to capture uri is the time Pakistani force can reach Srinagar. As Well as if Military in Sapore is removed, they will have no resistance path to Srinagar, and ofcourse Srinagar is unprotected according to day dream of Mr Musharraf, the sanki buddha. And within hours Pakistani force will capture Srinagar, and Indian state will loose the capital, Remember the day-dream of Musharraf during Kargil was to capture Srinagar. One suggestion....to Buddha Musharraf, If he has so much allergy with military presence in civil area, he should begin it with Pakistan, and from himself, he is General who have upsurped the highest post in Pakistan, leave it....or shall i say in his own words..which he might have learned in his umpteen US trips..."BACK OFF".....
Pakistan president Musharrf's statement "that if India withdraw its troops from certain parts of J&K, He will ensure no terroist activity in these places", does this means that he acknowledges that pakistan is active ground for breeding such terrorist groups and he as a leader is doing nohting about it ???
