Real culprits
by Dr. Vishesh Malhotra on Feb 23, 2006 07:55 PM  Permalink

Jessica Lal's real culprits also include those who continue to let him have political influence. Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda chose to have Manu Sharma's father Vinod Sharma in his cabinet despite all this. Congress party bosses including Manmohan Singh & Sonia Gandhi ARE YOU NOT AWARE OF THIS? The people might give you all a befitting reply in any coming election for all the consideration you have shown for a common citizen's life.

The judgement was a blot on our judicial system
by Murtaza Ali on Feb 23, 2006 07:42 PM  Permalink

Hi
Article is interesting , specially more when it is coming from horses's mouth.
Dear Madam , with all respect to your profession , I have one small question.
If the respected lawyer of supreme court is dejected about this issue , how a common man on the street, who is unaware of laws and by-laws, should do.
If you feel dejected , I request you to raise a voice against it....And gather enough support for changing such laws.

My best luck to you.....

We ought to do something !!
by Ashish Bagga on Feb 23, 2006 06:27 PM  Permalink

Well whoever the guilty may be, but the fact is Crime had been committed & culprit get rid of the punishment. These kind of cases bluntly show that how weak our judiciary system is ? It knows that who is culprit, but can't punish, due to lack of evidences. It's a slap on our country's judiciary system. We ought to do some thing about it. If any leader of our country is reading it must take a note of this situation & should also consider the graveness of the situation. He must strive to correct, only then he is paying his debts to the country, unless he is just unwanted load on the country.

Deep Condolences to Jessica's family
by Madhu on Feb 23, 2006 05:11 PM  Permalink

When i heard that Manu Sharma and all involved in this case got acquitted, i felt as if it's a big blow on everybody's face who thinks India is great. Bu today I feel shame to be an Indian having such laws that anybody can make a fun of that.

My deep condolences with Jessica's family. Like her family members, we all Indians look at dismay but cannot help. We are helpess though we all know she is murdered.

We also know Syed Modi got murdered. But Ameeta is happily married with Sanjay Singh. Remember what Sanjay Singh's first wife has told about Sanjay Singh in a TV interview? This is law.

We all common citizens who doesnt have a political leader as a father or uncle or those who dont have a police man as their relative, I pay my deep condolences prior to anything happens to any of us.
The only thing i can say is -
God is there, Have faith, he will definitely punish these culprits.

Indira jaising's article
by Jayant on Feb 23, 2006 05:11 PM  Permalink

I fully agree with Indira Jaising's article. But what is the remedy. It seems socialites can be purchased just like commodities.

corruption in indian courts
by wildduck on Feb 23, 2006 05:05 PM  Permalink

I am a complainant in a criminal case concerning major offences calling for 10 years imprisonment. the case has dragged for 10 years (accused are billionaires ) i have had to bribe EVERYBODY except a lady prosecutor, just to keep the hearings on. Each and every police officer involved in investigation took maximum bribe possible (from both sides )Accused removed orignal land files from office of sub registrar delhi with total immunity. Coming to patiala courts is like a picnic for accused. Nothing strange if murderers get acquitted. A formal price list for acquittals should be officially pasted outsid each police station so accused can commit crimes they can pay for !

Jessica Lall Murder Case
by Naushad H Mullick on Feb 23, 2006 04:46 PM  Permalink

It is really pathetic to read the news of Manu Sharma's acquittal. Really it shows the power of money today and how people with power can meander the judiciary and go scotfree. We all Indians must feel shameful for this and curse the people involved right from the spectators who saw and never came ahead to testify especially Bina Ramani & friends and Shayan Munshi who have been the real murderers. They have abetted the crime and made the true citizens of India shameful . We all are there with Ms.Sabrina Lal & her family and share their grief at this testing time and we all request the media and powerful people lawyers etc. to come up and make this a movement by writing articles and putting the case open again in High Court and even write to the President to reversal of the same and litigate all the people involved in this matter to turn the eyewitness hostile and making a mockery of the Indian judiciary. Cases like this surely dismantles our faith in Indian polity and this is not the first time.Things like this happen time and again.

The king does no wrong
after all how many times a murder accused gets bail
and gets a chance to influence the witnesses.
In Mumbai blast case how many are on bail and how many still suffering inside?
