change the rules
by mk on Feb 26, 2006 11:14 AM  Permalink

what is wrong in talimg law in one's hand for getting justice wen u knw dat d law is not going to help. A father killed the rapist of his minor daughter when he was let out on bail. Now d father is in jail for life imprisonment for the GOOD DEED he has done. The rapist was let out on bail, does the court or d police give the guarntee dat he won't do the same again.Wat punishment will he get - death sentance. The victim has to bear it for life, with no one to support her, except her family. It is high time that d punishment be made more severe like dat in Islamic countries. Though it is barbaric, crime rate will be reduced(hope so..).

I am working in the u.k.My head bows in shame when I compare the legal system here to that in my country. It is high time that a witness protection scheme be launched by the central government.Delhi is a real scum city .Law enforcing is only for those in lower strata of socity. In my home state all accused in rape case of a minor are set free by the Kerala high court. It is high time that the supreme court takes a serious view about these acquittals. As always , it is the dirty politician who is responsible for ours being an underdeveloped country. It is high time we get rid of these leeches.

LAW IS BLIND
by sachin on Feb 25, 2006 01:29 PM  Permalink

Jessica said 'no' to serve a drink anymore...and she paid with her life. But accused is set free despite the fact that Manu Sharma killed an innocent in a crowdy party with his friends ! Whole of the nation knows who killed her, including the judiciary, police, investigators and government...but they want someone else (eye witness) should say this. Why ? Why not the evidences given their priority ? have investigators, at all, had their heart at work ? Indian judiciary and system has failed one more time.....we just saw the unnatural death of manjunath(IIM lucknow alumni). PLease Do something about it. MEDIA is very potent, and I think more believable than LAW ! at least it raises the voice and awakens the deafs and blinds.

Real Culprits
by SAS on Feb 24, 2006 09:49 AM  Permalink

The real culprit is the time taken by the courts. How can a witness keep going to court so many times and for so many days?
During the first 30 days, they would be true. And settlement without any permission to appeal should happen during this period. Any case that takes more than 30 days is only a coverup.

Jessica Lal's murder
by Alok Govil on Feb 24, 2006 04:28 AM  Permalink

The fact that the rich and the powerful can get away with murder in India shows the pathetic state of the police and the judiciary. I think only a vigilante organisation can provide succour to the wronged. The rich criminals should understand that they can buy the legal system but there is a greater danger awaiting them, especially in such open and shut cases.

shameful, disgraceful !
by Sanchaita on Feb 24, 2006 12:11 AM  Permalink

The verdict acquiting Manu Sharma is a huge disgrace for the legal system of our country. The one fact remains, and that is, an innocent was killed, that also in public. And when there is a victim, there has to be a killer. And inspite of the crime being done publicly, the accused is set scot free. Its shameful. I ask the law-bearers that even if we agree Manu is not the culprit, then where is the one who committed this crime. When there is a crime, there is the criminal, and where is he??? Kya iske baad bhi bole MERA BHARAT MAHAAN ?!? Such apathy, and such cowardness..... its.... don't have adequate words to explain..

Judicial system and Political system
by saikrishna on Feb 23, 2006 10:01 PM  Permalink

It has been proved again that "Money and Power" can anything in India. Inspite of having striking evidence the accused was let off (seeing a picture of the accused smiling was disgusting).
The Courts lose their credibility when judgments like this are passed. Another judgement where the courts announced that "private institutions can charge a capitation fee" is something in this direction. The "rich and the powerful educational institutions" were able to elicit such a judgement from the courts in india.
The courts that charge people with "Contempt" should look within first before they point fingers at the people.
we should now say "the Judicial and the political systems go hand-in-hand" and the media is the worst.
