Wait till we know what really happened. These things can easily be faked. This may be a classic case of a woman taking advantage of the fact that she is a woman and frame the whole thing up.
I agree that what the judge said was very bad and its unfortunate that it came from such an educated person...BUT then such kind of people are there everywhere...Men do suffer a lotttt more than what females do, but men do NOT cry over such issues, instead they have the fighting spirit and have the heart to face anything...
I recommend women also to STOPPP making issues out of such things and concentrate on raising sympathy...It would be a better idea to concentrate on their work rather than making such things public and gaining sympathy...This would make Indian women better than women of other countries...
It was really shocking to hear that a Judge made such a stament against a lade Lawyer. Judge is a person who is supposed to give justice to citizens of this nation. He is a preist in the temple of Judiciary. If Judge has no hesitation in doing these type of things then how can the citizens expect justice from this Justice. Prompt action should be taken against him.
Welcome to the world of Genext India. The generation thriving on IT, ITES and shopping mall culture, zipping in & out of national & international airports. Whether I missed it or otherwise, but I didnot read large protests or for that matter even a whimper from anybody worth its salt or even from so called women oriented NGOs. Such judges should be unceremoniously debarred, defrocked and publocly humiliated.
I have always Ms.Indira Jaisingh for her upright stand against any injustice and here again I find atleast one lady lawyer coming up and stating her views in the most elegant yet string words. I completely agree with the fact that lady lawyers are most defenitely not taken seriously as if being a lawyer is the birth right of the Male species.
It is a crime to be a women, a bigger crime to be a lady lawyer and the biggest to be a lady lawyer in criminal side. It is presumed that you are incompetent so far as your knowledge and interpretation of law is concerned. Not that every one in our profession thinks so but yes most of them do.This wont last for long.
Most Women in India are always crying that they are tortured because they are women. In fact they enjoy lots of facilities than men. They don't have to bother for the sits in the buses, there are no fear to be called as unemployed or jobless, they get compensation if husband passed away, except there is reservation in everywhere for them. It is fact that brutal or high crimes are done by the men mostly, though it is not correct that all women are innocent in everycase. Now women in India are self-sufficient, those who support this tell me one thing how many ladies can bear their daily cost themselves. In a advertisement (it is based on some sort of water saving) it showed that a man wasting water for saving his beard. But, if you thoroughly you can find that a ordinary woman wastes more water than a man.
I am not so good in English but I think I have expressed myself.

I agree that it is wrong to make a statement like "A crime that I was born as a woman", I also agree that women have certain advantages BUT hey! Women get those seats in buses because Men are chauvanistic. Think about how often women get taken seriously in the work place? Think about how men react when they are under female supervision? How often is it possible for a single woman to go out alone without hearing men pass comments? I agree not all women are innocent but the ones who are trying to be independent and support themselves are constantly a target of disrepect and harrassment from men. Ever met a woman who wants to work but her husband or in-laws won't let her because it's not acceptable in their society? How then can you expect women to support themselves? PS - There are actually quite a few women doing much better than their male counterparts but don't think they haven't heard remarks like the one passed by the judge in question. People, get rid of the stereotype and give women a chance in a healthy work environment.
This is a matter of national shame that elements in the judiciary are acting in a manner that is contrary to what they are supposed to uphold. Maybe the pompous male ego of some of these elements have been over blown having faced complete un accountability and "my lord" addressing over the ages. It is time for a change and cleanup.
Coming from a Judge, such a thing is absolutely appalling and to say such a thing in front of so many people is cheap of that Judge. Just goes to show the hypocrisy of our judicial system.
its ironical that the institution that has been empowered with the responsibility of imparting justice itself practises such gross discrimination...its time v step on the gas and tell them "no more"...

a judge passing such appaling and baseless comments is absolutely unacceptable. The very protectors of law are the once violating it. Strict action must be observed against such appaling behaviour.
