Other alternative could be to gain enough economic power so that the followers of Hinduism are taken seriously. Till that time have patience, wait till the tide is over.
Having pondered over the issue, let's decide now a course of action . I finf two alternative
1> Immediate fight . For that we need to make a joint front. First effort has to be to get as many like minded people joined on an internet plateform . Next Step :- To organise prayer meeting on any fixed day of week in nearby locality, much like that of christian mass and moslem Zuma namaz. Third Step :- formalise a process by which a non-hindu can accept Hinduism. As Hinduism is the mother religion, I strongly feel that a muslim or a Christian can become Hindu without leaving his previous faith. Worshippers of hundreds of different forms of Gods and Godesses , followers of different Gurus call themselves Hindu , Just because they know that there is only one God. Now, Jesus and Mohammed could definitely be one among those several of revered divine incarnations and gurus of Hindus. Conversion from Monotheism to Hinduism can be only seen an acceptance of the philosophy more than one way to attain final truth. Fourth Step :- To get a Hindu TV chanel started like christian and muslim evangelical TV channels.
No point in crying over spilled milk. Wanna have voice, gain power, gain prosperity. I dream of a discussion sometimes in year 2030 on a ship :- A Hindu youth to a Briton youth ( with wry smile ) " So u still play Rugby!! How Primitive !!" The Briton replies - " no.. err. yes Sir, but u see only a few. Now most of the Britons are trying to be cultured ". ( In 2030 India has to be developed nation. Today Brits laugh at Indian games and mock at our religious ceremony).
Another mind-blowing stuff from you.Congrats! And keep up the good work!!
What we are experiencing today is a carfully crafted conspiracy involving the dnagerous 4Ms-Missionaries, Mullahs, Macaulaites and Marxists!
The limited understanding of our religion or lack of sensitivity to its greatness- on the part of westerners should not be surprising or shocking.
Because back home, there is this century old Chennai based and Marxist mouthpiece daily (that proclaims itself as 'India's National Newspaper' albeit its anti-national content and ironically calls itself 'The Hindu') once carried an inane piece penned by a half-Danish columnist which called the Vedas as a 'compilation of pornographic hymns'!
And we have an octogenerian Dravidian leader who gave a new interpretation to the very word 'Hindu' as meaning 'thief'. The present central minister from TN, T R Baalu, in an Iftaar party organised by some Muslim bodies openly called the Hindu religion barbaric and expressed his shame for having been born into a religion that stands for a discriminatory social order. When the Hindus raise their voice, it is fundamentalism. Minority violence is their right
There is a fundamental difference between Hindu like religion and mid west Asian religion. There is no coersion in Hinduism. Hindu religion teaches tolerance and multiple ways to achieve one's destiny in life. So we donot kill demented marxist. Should we be different (?) - if we behaved like the others, many of the broad minded hindus will not know which religion to convert to. let us pay the price to be able to enjoy this wonderful belief
Actually, I like the article but not the title. The problem is descriptions of Hinduism are biased and therefore untrue. Discrimination implies negative behavior directed against them in the social or economic sphere such as being deprived of economic opportunities, denied admission to superior education.
Going by this definition, there is no 'endemic discrimination' of Hindus. There is chronic misrepresentation of the religion.
I read your articles regularly and I appreciate your boldness. Most of the Indians, as you have pointed out , feels that Secularism is Hindu bashing and so called minority pampering. Your article is well timed, because I was frustrated to see the hue and cry being made by the entire world for the Dannish cartoon. I didnt get a chance to see the cartoon, but for a cartoon the whole world is protesting. But when Hindu gods are depcited in a disgusting way in underwears, bikinis, chappals and so on..no one ever protested. its shame on the Hindus to make a fool of ourself by being silent and its shame on the Indian government who doesnt even bother to protect the rights and sentiments of its majority population. Unless and until a Hindu revolution comes up we Hindus will be a meak street dogs at the eyes of the world.
Thanks for bringing up this "politically incorrect" topic.
What is happening in America to Hindu studies is just plain racism played out by some white Chrisitan supremacists hand in glove with US-settled Indian Marxists (race traitors).
(Why no Indian Marxist is ever found settled in North Korea or Cuba is a mystery. They themselves don't want to eat the pudding they offer to others as Manna from heaven.)
Hindus are not the only sufferers. Study of African blacks has fared worse. Here too, this game of writing inferior African history has been played out by White Chrisitan supremacists hand in glove with some Uncle Toms (race traitors).
Hindus are co-conspirators in their own oppression and wilful acceptance of inferior status in their own homeland. People of other races know this and take it as an example of self-degradation of Hindus. That is why Hindus are jeered and walked upon everywhere.
The Hindu race needs to be woken up from its slumber and disinterest in its own survival. People like you are doing a very good job for this.
Its high time to change the meaning of secularism. A suitable meaning may be "A RELIGION THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY BEING FOLLOWED IN INDIA". Rajeev, i sincerely thank you for your wonderful articles. Its a pity that, despite reading these articles all our INDIAN secularists( so called) can think only about criticising your articles, and suggesting that our country can develop if we stop thinking abt religions. This idea will be of use only if everyone thinks alike, again a step from hindus alone portrays them as goats in slaughter houses. How long are we going to keep quiet. If shiv sena speaks something abt religion, it becomes anti secular, but if some other religious parties even take processions, distribute pamphlets against other religions, it becomes a fight for minoriy rights. First we should ask our fellow citizens to grow up and then expect the WEST to respect us
