Congratulations to the cheif justice. Good work always pays. On another note, the writer of this article should think twice before writing the name of the article. I don't understand why did he pointed out the work 'Dalit' in that. This is clearly a dividing act and he should not indulge himself/herself int castism..
Justice Balakrishnan becomes CJI because he is the most senior judge and not because he is a Dalit. Also stop spreading lies that Kerala is caste-ridden society in the near past. I learned that he started his schooling in around 1950 (since his brith was in 1945)and by that time Kerala has already undergone renaissance and a caste based discrimination was no longer existed. The journalist wanted to assign a nonexistent 'Dalit card' to the new CJI appointment and in that frency he tries to put forth a nonexistent caste discrimination in Kerala.
People Can Understand finally it's not the caste or race or any kind of attributes of human kind that decide on the abilities or competency of people rather it is the attitude and tireless efforts makes a man or CJI.
I am sure people who struggled in life understanda the society and the values required. i am sure he will be remembered as an outstanding CJI in the indian history not becuase he occupied this chair but 'coz of his work in the due course.
People shall open their hearts and have a change of heart against the caste factor in india in all respects of human dignity.
Another Indian there to convey this message Thank you all Vinod Babu Mikkili Dy.manager(IT),SAIL Hyderabad
I congratulate justice Balakrishnan and expect land mark judgements from him. I do not want to equate him with our political figures. There are lot of people in top posts who do not deserve such posts. Our present political system allow such people to rule. As for Mr. Balakrishnan he deserves his present post. I would request every body including media not to call him a DALIT CHIEF JUSTICE nor to certain extend SIKH PRIME MINISTER nor a MUSLIM PRESIDENT, they are well deserved for such posts and they should be called only as president of India ,prime minister of India and chief justice of India that's all.
I think the day we stop refering to people by their caste/religion will be the day when I think Indians will have overcome their prejudices against each other.
With people in the media using such words just goes on to show their low level of thinking and professionalism. No wonder we are still referred to as a developing country or third world.
It shows how fast India came. Indian president, Governors, Judges from the down trodden comming back shows that the society quickly realized the need. I hope his children and grand children do not call themselves backward and oppressed only then the whole socieity will be called a forward socieity.
Dear Sir/Madam..... Let me wish Dr. Balakrishnan ,the very best in his term as new CJI of India. He is a well qualified man and he deserves this achievement. At the same time i am perplexed by the way the media (including you!!) have highlighted him being the first"DALIT" CJI. What crap!! Highly sensitive post like this should be free of such ridiculous tags which would create NOTHING but a false apprehension among the citizens of this great republic. If you are here trying to justify that you want to cite an "example" or protray him as an "inspiration" for people from backward castes, then let me tell you, that the concept is totally deceiving and nothing but excreta of a male herbivore. Here u people have again managed to further contribute to already existing rents in the society. Kudos!! My head is down with shame. Please!!! for heaven' sake, refrain from labelling any achievement on somebody's caste background.
