i think india dicision to help in creation bagladesh was not correct dicision.because its pakistan internal mattere.that's why pakistan start their activity in kashmir to take revenge.
I dont see any reason why, when china is going to every neighbour with the map of 1930's, why cant Barath have the map of 1946. If B'desh wanted to be a nuclear state they can join with us and also have the pride of Largest democracy, one of the top economies in the world. I wish India to be a strong & powerful contry with peace and prosperity and there should be no room for beliefs to divide the ppl.
It's very shamefull to say how the ungreatfull the nation Bangladesh is and it's peoples are? They were not the proper candidate to deserved those help rather it was better that they would have tortured by them and would have got a lession from them. Now adays if they are supporting the terror,it means they have forgotten those old days when they were tortured.so as per the situation they should treat as our enemy.
Creation of Bangalesh is as big a blunder as the incomplete partition of India, ceding of territory to China and to Pakistan.
Pakistan was ruling Bangladesh. Pakistan was hated by Bangaldeshis. And the Paki's had to spend a lot of time and money to control East Bengal.
Once Bangladesh got 'liberated' - we do not have any great friendly relations with it. It is still practically an enemy state of India. It is full of ISI. There are land and river disputes. The border is unfenced and millions of Bangaldeshis flow into India and cause socio-economic problems in India.
It would have been best had Bangladesh remained a part of Pakistan and caused internal problems for Pakistan - rather than have it emerge as an independent entity which is allied with Pakistan and causing problems for India.
In my view 'No'. If we recall the pre-Id message of General Yahya in 1971 wherein he, being cornerned in world community, offered to settle all the dispute including Kashmir. That would have been a great opportunity for India to demand Full Autonomy for East Pakistan, make LoC in Kashmir a permanent Inter-National Border, and to sign No-War Pact etc. In that case Pakistan would have always a venerable strategic weekness that now does not exist rather it is our turn now. We are facing two hostile nations in stead of one.
India has helped during 1971 and freed Bangladesh. But as far as my knowledge is concerned, it is observed that India should not helped Bangladesh. Since both are Muslim countires and in future they will join againt India. At present both are helped all the terrorist groups to illegal activities in India
I was a young officer in the 1971. I flew extensively on bombing missions, did standbye duties. I do not claim any credit for it ,because i had a chosen profession and I was being paid to do the work . It was a moral contract between me and the nation. Throuhout the war I felt whose war are we fighting . The victory in war was a foregone conclusion because of our numerical superiority and geo-political compulsions. Both the political and military leadership benefitted immensely. While we rejoice our seles ,we in India have to ask ourselves the following a) Do we require 10 months mobilization period to achieve a limited millitary victory. b)After 1965 country invested for 20 years in Defence ,did they fullfilled the confidence of peole of india. c) The country again saw encounter in Kargil (different kind of operation). We may have done partly well for the brave soldiers. Only a part system worked well. The history of Kargill is full of half truths. d)After 51 of investment by people of India in defence ,how effective are the forces. e)How long we will take to be able to mobilise and launch operations. f)Will the Govt of day again hide behind half truths.
after the victory of 1971 war, Indian Prime minister (then) Indra Ghandi said that we have sworn two nation theory in waters of Indian Ocean. I think after openly helping rebels ( or even creating them to much extent )in east Pakistan, India has lost right to blame Pakistan for its indirect (and even direct) help to liberation movements / uprising in India like that of Kashmir. Good and Sensuous!
But this is clear difference and yours doesn't qualify for comparison.
The war of bangladesh is for liberation and was yet another freedom struggle. Your paki rulers tried to dummp urdu over the bangla speaking mass and went out for illegal settlements. This is where any freedom struggle starts and being a democratic having its roots from afgan to myannmar, it did its job (actually half job).
The situation but in kashimir is because of pak sponsered terrorism. While separation, as per common guidelines, the rulers of self-governed regions like Kashmir were given the choice to join any sides. The prince of kashmir opted India and your pakis intervention and occupation is illegal.
Got? Paki or any bluffers should understand the concept before.
We did the right thing as human beings to liberate the Bangladeshis from torture and repression. But looking at the present day situation in Bangladesh, their pro-pakistani leanings and anti-India stance, maybe we did a politically prematured/ detrimental thing ... Strange to see the double standards of Bangladeshi governments and their back-stabbing of their friend-in need India.
We are very easy going with our neighbours who are bent upon to wreck our economy by creating tensions in our borders.Hence we are forced to spend 50% of our budget on our defence to face skirmishes from a Lilliputian country compared to a gigantic country. There is no use of crying about the past.We should once for all fortify our borders like China by constructing a wall and monitoring posts should be equipped with patriotic missles for defence purpose. Infiltration should be curbed.Military Officers should suggest these measures to our President and Prime Minister. Those who are not interested to stay in India should be asked to leave. Politicians should have will to do this.
