Reply to the post 'Time to make India a no reservation country'

Dear friend,
the reservation is for uplifting the people deprived because of the social conditions they faced in India, thats we say..discrimination.
The people or we should say, those who discriminated on the basis of caste, have to be reserved on the basis of cast only.
For example,If there is drainage in your house on the roof, and water enters through it,what will you do??Are you gonna sit with umbrella?? No.You have to see for the damages in the roof.
Like wise,The economic imbalance is not the basic problem, its the adverse effect of discrimination faced by the ancestors of our comrades...If they would be Nawabs or Kings in the past,Surely the sons and daughters would not needed the reservations..The reservation on economic imbalance will be temporary,To clean the root cause not only reservation is necessary..But its rapid and accurate implementation is equally important

Moreover,
If you will see the reservations in IIMs IITs,why dont you see that ,the time reservation being implemented in the institutions, the no.of seats are also increased proportionally so that talent will not get damaged.

true,if cricket would have been played in the era of Manu than all would have been reserved for upper caste and the provision would have made in the constitution of Manu as as usual ;.e all is reserved for upper caste. What a Merit.

reservations...why no to them always?
by Amit Nagarkar on May 05, 2011 10:55 AM  Permalink

it feels disappointing to know from young generation how strongly they are against reservation for the SC and ST communities in India. It seems they are unaware of the reasons why it was implemented to begin with. It had nothing to do with the financial status or economical background of the person. It was a positive step to bring about social equality in all sectors of society. Education being the most affluent part needs reservation first. It sounds disgusting to see equating it to Bollywood and cricket. Reservation ensured that the SC and ST secure their seats in respective sectors and that the shrewd among the upper castes do not refrain them of their rights as they did for years in the past. Whether reservations should be stopped? or When would reservations come to an end? should be a question to be answered by the ones who are reserved and not by the ones who feel they are giving reservation as alms. Reservation for the SC and ST is not a previelege but a right. It is for this reason that developed countries like the US still have reservations for the minorities and blacks. If a upper class candidate feels deprived of his opportunity to a seat in higher education only because a SC or ST candidate gets it for a lower score, he may surely CONVERT himself to a lower caste in the Hindu society for the rest of his life, get it certified by the court and may secure the seat. That is another way it can be done.

1...i completly agree wid you. reservation means helping the needy not the greedy.
if this trend of reservation continues than apologetically i ve to say that the more deserving students will be left out and our future could well be imagined, like the fall of ICARUS.
i suppose the our politics need new leaders who are not worried about their vote bank, not like the currewnt deceript ones, coz once they are on the rite path, the educated class, who hardly vote, gonna support them.
or else on ur sons next birthday he may ask for a sc/bc certificate as a present for the future...1
