Hi,
Just read all the comments posted by u all. Im living abroad, here when I meet an Indian even now I get excited,I just dont try to find out who he is whether hindu, musilm or chirstian. One and only one important factor binds us thats INDIAN.Dear ones when u post ur comments on net millions are reading that ,that too world wide.To a non Indian who reads this ,the first thing that will come to his mind is the conflict amongst Indian. Terrorist want that , a lilltle spark like this will ignite the minds of millions. Why why are u arguing.I will give u a simple suggestion,if u can do this to ur mother land.Just for one day let all the dailies and Indian channels conduct a poll(which sometimes they do for not that imp issue), to know how many are willing to sing the song.Im telling u,ur gonna get an enormous response.Let us vote and if ur head of family let each n every member of ur family vote. Its our chance to show how much we love our mother land.Let us give a strong answer to those persons who think this will drift us apart by adopting a nonviolence act like this with out verbally abusing anybody.Without arguing this is simple and strong answer we can give to those persons.Le

Vande Mataram

Why does everyone think that what the Imam said is the only opinion of Indian muslims?! There is no need to make it compulsory. I will sing it proudly, voluntarily. I only hope that such a proud song is not made a political tool.

Mother I bow to thee
by Pramod on Aug 29, 2006 08:03 PM  Permalink

Vande Mataram means 'Mother I bow to thee'.For us this country is not just a land but its our mother, hence we are its sons.
We must be very proud to say "Vande Mataram".

There is no rule to be made to say so, but if anybody opposes that is most shameful.

I have been singing Vande matram since my child hood with out worrying for its meaning as it brings out the patriotic feelings in my self . I believe that God understands itself when U sing this song that U r not actually praying to other god and its just the expression of patriotic feelings , How ever at the same time I feel sad every time when I see these blogs that soo many people react voilently all the time and every one should be responsible enough and be restranied in this 21st century .

Roop rang anek hain, phir bhi hum ek hain
by A on Aug 29, 2006 02:42 PM  Permalink

Any song which opposes someone's faith, cannot be considered as National Song. It must be written in such a way that every citizen can sing it with pride, regardless which religion he belongs to.
Regarding the current issue, we can make the singing of Vande Mataram optional, so that no one is forced to sing it. It is something which need to be sung from the depth of the heart, not only from mouth. If someone sings it with just his mouth and not with heart, it is worthless and just hippocracy. So, we must not force any of our brother or sisters to sing it, until the song resides in their hearts.
Politicians just solve their purposes by raising such issues, either they are from BJP or from any other party.
We as Indian should always keep our eyes open and think positively keep in mind the aspects of all the citizens of India, thier faith, their religionm their thinking, their culture, which varies from place to place. Our country has thousands of colours. 'Roop rang anek hain, phir bhi hum ek hain'.

Should appoint a committee
by Subhash on Aug 29, 2006 12:32 PM  Permalink

Mr Arjun singh, living with the high spirit of CMP, should appoint a commitee to investigate, how the communal song was given the status of national anthem as it is against teh cherished principles of our secularism.

Our communist shall always be there to provide technical support to Arjun Singh & company.

I shall suggest these people to study the national anthem of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Russia, and should declare any one of these as our national anthem.

It will be a fitting tribute to secularism.

The most important factor shall be that minorities shall not raise any objection to such songs.

So far as Hindus are concerned, being fourth grade cityzens of India, they are not suppossed to oppose this move. If they oppose, they can be branded communal and imprisoned.

Further a special committe can be appointed to punish Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and othe rpeople who supported him He can be branded as a trator by our modern historians. Further all references to Vande Mattaram can be removed immediately as it is against the principles of Shariat and UPA Government has commitment to Shariat law.

Indians Frist

All these acts are political onces , just to fool innocent people and distract them from other major scandals.

we, the people should not involve our self and put the nations pride for a sake .Singing VANDE MANTARAM to our nation ,our mother will just show are love her, but we cannot make it mandatory for all people . They have there own way to express their love .India is a democratic country .

By avoiding controvesy ,we should not fall in evil traps of political games , and make our brother and sister happy and enjoy freedom .

There many other grave issue that are available for the political leader to solve , i belive they should concerate on them and bring people welfare not distress.

Vande Mataram
by R A Krishna on Aug 29, 2006 12:15 PM  Permalink

A pity that the Maulvis have decided to play a game called Sedition. I am gratified that several Muslims in this forum have refused to play the game.

At this rate practically every Hindu excepting the 'secular' variety will look upon the Muslims as a community made up of traitors and worse. Ironic that this controversy should have started by the 'secularest' face of all, our Aaj Ka Arjun, who had decided to make everyone sing the song that defined the Freedom movement. Seeing the reaction of his target segment, he decided to backtrack! After 20 years or so, we may all have a big laugh over this madcap! That is assuming that we still have a country that respects freedom and even has a sense of humour till then. Nehru was the one who said that Bankimda's song Vande Mataram would be the National Song and would have the same status as the National Anthem. To see Maulvis talking in this vein makes ones blood boil at the sheer cussedness of this lot. If they had talked in this way in the USA about the Star Spangled Banner or God Save America, they would have been in Guantanamo Bay!
