I am not aware of the reasons for the objection by some section of the people. But it is very sad to know that a song of national importance also is subjected to critisism just for the purpose of vote bank politics.

If somebody do not want to sing Vandemataram, then they should be asked to migrate to any country of their choice so that we donot have to bear their terrorist activities any more. These people are the real terrorists!

The National Song has the same status as the National Anthem. Refusing to sing it or stand to it amounts to showing disrespect for the nation and must be treated accordingly. We are supposed to be a secular nation which implies that the State does not subscribe to any religion. No religion aspect is thus involved.

VandeMataram was to have been our National Anthem, but owing to pressure was substituted by Jana Ganamana. It simply glorifies the Motherland as Divine and normal people should have no objection to it at all. However ours is the only country in the world where a portion of so-called "Secularists" have been playing havoc with our lives. They will side with so-called Minorities even in a patently injust way for their Votebank Politics. Congressmen, all kinds of Communists, people like Mulayam Singh,V.P.Singh,Arjun Singh, DMK Leaders all come under this category. They are willing to play with the Safety of the country for their VOTEBANK POLITICS. No wonder the Terrorists are happy with this UPA Govt.

Vandemataram is a soulful and melodious song which EVERY INDIAN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION should be proud to sing, not only on 7th September but occassionally throughout the year to instill national pride and as a tribute to those gifted us independence at the cost of their lives.

What Vande Mataram means to you?
by HARIHARAN.S on Aug 24, 2006 02:46 PM  Permalink

Vande Mataram is absolutely a song in praise of Mother. As far as Indian Culture is concerned The homeland is considered as Mother and we do worship the Homeland as mother.

In that sense Vande Mataram is an adorable piece of poetry in praise of Motherland.

There is a fact that the continuing verses in the Original Song is in praise of Mother Kali, the godess.

So people of other religions who dont believe in religious tolerence can raise a hue and cry.

The present political personals who do not have any reverence for our cultural heritage and are only concerned about the minority vote bank will support people who are against singing of Vande Mataram.

I feel it should not be forced on anybody.

We know who is who in our country. Can we inculcate patriotism in such heinous people who desire our downfall??

There should be an enormous enlightenment and awareness drive among the masses. For that eradication of illiteracy and educated people coming into main stream politics is a necessity.

Vande Mataram is a national song. It praises the mother and the mother land. Any body who does not respect our motherland and who holds his religion supreme should not live among us. He can as well migrate to Pakistan, where religion and nation are the same. Vande Mataram is sacred to all of us irrespective of religious affiliations.
