What Vande Mataram means to you?
by HARIHARAN.S on Aug 24, 2006 02:46 PM

Vande Mataram is absolutely a song in praise of Mother. As far as Indian Culture is concerned The homeland is considered as Mother and we do worship the Homeland as mother.

In that sense Vande Mataram is an adorable piece of poetry in praise of Motherland.

There is a fact that the continuing verses in the Original Song is in praise of Mother Kali, the godess.

So people of other religions who dont believe in religious tolerence can raise a hue and cry.

The present political personals who do not have any reverence for our cultural heritage and are only concerned about the minority vote bank will support people who are against singing of Vande Mataram.

I feel it should not be forced on anybody.

We know who is who in our country. Can we inculcate patriotism in such heinous people who desire our downfall??

There should be an enormous enlightenment and awareness drive among the masses. For that eradication of illiteracy and educated people coming into main stream politics is a necessity.
